Description

Copper Cable is the primary low-voltage (LV) energy conduit in Ala Industrial for Minecraft 26.2. Each segment carries a live buffer of 12 EU per tick, connecting generators such as the Solar Panel and Wind Mill to storage like the Battery Box and to machines like the Macerator. The cable forms the backbone of the starter power chain — Solar Panel to Battery Box to Macerator — and accepts packets up to the LV ceiling of 32 EU per packet. Copper Cable is crafted from three copper ingots arranged in a horizontal row, yielding three cables per crafting operation. The mod runs on both the Fabric and NeoForge loaders, and Copper Cable behaves identically on either.

The bare wire introduces an electrical-safety hazard unique to Ala Industrial: while energy is actively flowing through a segment, Copper Cable deals 2 damage to any player within 0.5 blocks of that segment. The shock does not apply to disconnected or idle lines, and a solid block placed between the cable and the player absorbs the hit entirely. Power loss along Copper Cable is exponential — 2 percent attenuation per block traversed — but a sufficiently long line always delivers at least 1 EU from any positive packet. Insulated Copper Cable halves the loss and eliminates the shock hazard entirely, making it the preferred choice for densely wired areas.

Ala Industrial Guide

How to use Copper Cable in Ala Industrial

  1. 1

Craft Copper Cable from copper ingots

Place three copper ingots in a horizontal row on a crafting grid to produce three Copper Cables. Smelt raw copper in a furnace or blast furnace to obtain the ingots.

  2. 2

    Connect generators to machines

Lay Copper Cable segments between a Solar Panel or Wind Mill and the machine you want to power, such as a Macerator or Battery Box. Each segment carries up to 12 EU per tick at the LV tier.

  3. 3

    Watch for the shock hazard

While energy flows through a bare Copper Cable segment, it deals 2 damage to any player within 0.5 blocks. Step away or place a solid block as a barrier before servicing a live line.

  4. 4

    Insulate for safety

Craft Insulated Copper Cable by wrapping three Copper Cables around rubber insulation. The insulated variant eliminates the shock hazard entirely and halves the per-block energy loss.

Cable safety

Copper Cable only deals damage while energy is actively moving through the segment. A disconnected line with residual buffer charge is completely safe. Servers can disable the shock mechanic in the configuration.

Frequently asked questions

How much power does Copper Cable carry?

Copper Cable carries a working buffer of 12 EU per tick per segment in Ala Industrial, with a packet ceiling of 32 EU for the LV tier.

Does Copper Cable deal damage?

Yes. While energy is actively flowing through a bare Copper Cable segment, it deals 2 damage to any player within 0.5 blocks of the cable. Idle or disconnected cables are safe.

How do you craft Copper Cable?

Place three copper ingots in a horizontal row on a crafting grid to produce three Copper Cables.

Does Copper Cable lose energy over distance?

Yes. Copper Cable attenuates 2 percent of the energy per block traversed, but any positive packet always delivers at least 1 EU to the receiver.

What is the difference between Copper Cable and Insulated Copper Cable?

Insulated Copper Cable eliminates the contact-damage hazard and halves the per-block energy loss from 2 percent to 1 percent, at the cost of additional rubber in the recipe.

What tier is Copper Cable?

Copper Cable is an LV (low-voltage) cable with a maximum packet size of 32 EU. It cannot carry MV or HV packets without upgrading to Gold or Electrum Cable.
