Description

Reactor Outlet is the HV wall socket of the reactor room in the Ala Industrial mod — a purpose-built piece of shell and the only place where a cable can take power out of the sealed chamber. The Reactor Controller stands buried in the wall by design: four faces hidden in the shell, the fifth opening into the sealed chamber, and the front face reserved for the player panel, so a finished reactor keeps no free face for a cable. The internal buffer of Reactor Outlet is 512 EU — exactly one tick at the HV ceiling — and energy flows out on all six faces at up to 512 EU/t. Charging in the opposite direction never happens: Reactor Outlet accepts 0 EU/t from outside, while the Reactor Controller refills the buffer every tick from a 200,000 EU store.

Crafting Reactor Outlet on a crafting table returns two blocks at once: four Rubber in the corners, two Copper Cables, two Iron Ingots and one Shielding Plate in the middle. For the room scan, Reactor Outlet counts as ordinary casing — never a breach, and outside the 30% glass limit, so the chamber stays sealed. Sizing the take-off is a cable question: one Electrum Cable segment carries 192 EU/t, and a socket set into a flat wall exposes a single face, so a full-power HV reactor needs three sockets. Ala Industrial runs on Minecraft 26.2 Java Edition and loads on both Fabric and NeoForge.

How to connect Reactor Outlet to a power grid in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Craft two outlets

Lay out the crafting grid with Rubber in the four corners, a Copper Cable above and below the centre, an Iron Ingot on each side and one Shielding Plate in the middle: the recipe returns two Reactor Outlets.

  2. 2

Set the outlet into the reactor shell

Place Reactor Outlet into any cell of the wall, floor or ceiling of the reactor room: the scan counts the socket as ordinary casing, so the chamber stays sealed.

  3. 3

    Wait for the room scan

Give the controller up to 40 ticks (2 seconds): the list of outlets is rebuilt on every scan, so a fresh socket starts working within that window instead of instantly.

  4. 4

Run an Electrum Cable to the outer face

Connect one Electrum Cable segment to the face of Reactor Outlet that sticks out of the wall: a segment carries 192 EU/t, and a flat wall exposes one face per socket.

  5. 5

Check the take-off on the controller panel

Read the power numbers on the Reactor Controller panel: Reactor Outlet carries no indicator of its own, and a missing cable looks exactly like an empty buffer from the outside.

Placement tip

An outlet set on an edge or a corner of the shell exposes two or three faces at once, so several cables can hang off a single Reactor Outlet up to the same 512 EU/t ceiling. Keep sockets out of the floor inside the sealed chamber: the controller still charges such an outlet, but no cable can cross the shell from there.

Frequently asked questions

Can a cable charge the reactor through Reactor Outlet?

No. Reactor Outlet accepts 0 EU/t from outside: the direction is fixed, the Reactor Controller pushes energy out, and cables can only draw.

Why does Reactor Outlet store only 512 EU?

512 EU is exactly one tick at the HV ceiling of 512 EU/t. Reactor Outlet works as a hole in the wall rather than a battery, and the storage job belongs to the 200,000 EU buffer of the Reactor Controller.

How many outlets does a full-power reactor need?

Three. A socket in a flat wall exposes one face, and one Electrum Cable segment carries 192 EU/t, so 192 EU/t takes one outlet, 384 EU/t takes two and the full 512 EU/t takes three.

Does Reactor Outlet weaken the reactor shell?

No. The room scan counts Reactor Outlet as casing: no breach and no charge against the 30% glass limit. Hardness 5.0 and blast resistance 30.0 match the rest of the shell, and a pickaxe is required for the drop.

Does Reactor Outlet keep giving power while the reaction is paused?

Yes. A redstone signal stalls the reaction, but the Reactor Controller keeps handing out the remaining buffer every tick until the store runs dry.
