Water Mill
Water Mill is a passive LV generator in Ala Industrial that produces up to 4 EU/t from flowing water, with no fuel needed.
Description
To craft a Water Mill, arrange planks, copper ingots, copper cable, and a wooden gear on a crafting table; the recipe yields one mill. A water wheel component must sit in the mill's GUI slot — without it the block produces nothing and the external wheel model does not render. The wheel wears only while generating, with a total service life of 320 000 EU (roughly 6–7 in-game days at a typical 2 EU/t). Water Mill works identically on Fabric and NeoForge for Minecraft 26.2 (Java Edition).

How to use a Water Mill in Minecraft
-
1
Place the Water Mill facing open water
Set the mill on solid ground so the front face points toward where water will flow; the wheel extends one cell forward.
-
2
Create a flowing water current
Still sources like rivers and oceans do not count. Build a channel with a source one cell above the wheel and a drain below, or use waterfalls on both sides for up to 4 EU/t.
-
3
Insert a water wheel in the GUI slot
Open the Water Mill and place a water wheel component in the wheel slot. Without it, the mill produces no EU and the external wheel model does not render.
-
4
Connect a copper cable to the back face
Energy leaves only through the back face. Run a copper cable from that side toward your machines or a Battery Box.
-
5
Monitor the wheel's durability
The wheel wears down only while generating, lasting 320 000 EU total (about 6–7 in-game days). Craft a replacement before it breaks to avoid downtime.
Two water mills placed side by side or face to face need a 2-block gap between their wheels; back-to-back placement is flush. A solid block anywhere in the wheel's 3×3 plane stops generation.

Frequently asked questions
How much EU does a Water Mill generate?
A Water Mill produces 0–4 EU/t — 1 EU/t per flowing-water cell around the wheel, with a maximum of 4 when all four sides carry a current. Still source blocks do not count.
Does a Water Mill need fuel?
No. Water Mill is a passive generator that runs on flowing water alone, with no fuel, tanks, or fluid pipes required.
What tier is a Water Mill?
Water Mill is an LV-tier generator (low voltage, up to 32 EU/t packet ceiling). It is one of the entry-level power sources in Ala Industrial.
Why does my Water Mill produce no EU?
The most common causes are a missing water wheel in the GUI slot, still source water instead of a current, or a solid block blocking the wheel's 3×3 plane. Check the mill's status mode for the cause.
How long does a water wheel last?
A water wheel lasts 320 000 EU of total production — roughly 6–7 in-game days at a typical 2 EU/t — and wears only while actively generating power.
Can two water mills share the same water channel?
Two water mills placed side by side or face to face need a 2-block gap between their wheels; back-to-back placement is flush. Each mill counts water only around its own wheel.
