Bundle

Bundle holds up to a stack's worth of mixed item types in one inventory slot and is crafted from 1 string and 1 leather.

Block ID minecraft:bundle
Mod Vanilla
Game versions
26.1.2

Description

Bundle is a non-stackable item that stores several different item types inside one inventory slot, up to the total space of a single stack. Every item takes a share of that space based on its own stack limit: an item that stacks to 64, such as a stick, takes 1/64 of the capacity; an item that stacks to 16, such as an ender pearl, takes 1/16; and an item that does not stack, such as an iron sword, fills the whole Bundle. A Bundle holding 32 sticks and 8 ender pearls is therefore full, since 32 × 1 + 8 × 4 equals 64.

Bundle is crafted from 1 string placed directly above 1 leather, and Java Edition offers it without experimental toggles from version 1.21.2. Mixing Bundle with a dye in the crafting table yields a version in the color of that dye, in 16 colors in total, so differently colored bags are easy to tell apart at a glance. Hovering the cursor over Bundle shows a blue fullness bar, and the bar turns red when no space remains.

Guide

How to use a Bundle in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Craft the Bundle

Players craft one Bundle in the crafting table by placing 1 string directly above 1 leather.

  2. 2

    Insert items

Players pick up items in the inventory screen and left-click the Bundle, or pick up the Bundle and left-click the items; each item takes a share of the single-stack capacity.

  3. 3

    Take items out

Right-clicking the Bundle in the inventory moves the most recently added item to the cursor, and scrolling the mouse wheel over the Bundle selects another item first.

  4. 4

    Throw out the contents

Using the Bundle from the hotbar throws the most recently added stack of items out in the direction the player faces.

  5. 5

    Dye the Bundle

Combining the Bundle with a dye in the crafting table produces a Bundle in the color of that dye, one of 16 colors.

Choose stackable items

A single iron sword fills a whole Bundle, so Bundle works best for stackable items such as sticks, eggs, and ender pearls.

Frequently asked questions

Is a Bundle renewable?

Yes. Bundle is a renewable item (it can be obtained again and again), and the recipe needs only 1 string and 1 leather.

Can a Bundle go inside another Bundle or a shulker box?

Yes. A Bundle fits inside another Bundle, costing 1/16 of the outer Bundle plus its own contents, and a Bundle also fits inside a shulker box. A shulker box cannot be put inside a Bundle.

Where can a Bundle be found without crafting?

Bundle generates in some village chests, starting with Java Edition 1.21.5 and Bedrock Edition 1.21.70.

What happens to the items when a dropped Bundle is destroyed?

The stored items drop on the ground when a dropped Bundle is destroyed, for example by fire or by a cactus.
