Description

Green Bundle is a dyed bundle that keeps mixed item types together in a single inventory slot, with a total capacity equal to one stack of 64. Green Bundle is crafted shapelessly from any bundle and one Green Dye, and an undyed bundle comes from one String and one Leather. Items that stack to 64 take 1/64 of the capacity each, items that stack to 16, such as Eggs and Ender Pearls, take 1/16 each, and non-stackable items such as an Iron Sword fill the whole bundle. In Java, the space an item takes equals the reciprocal of its max_stack_size component.

Green Bundle is not stackable, yet one Green Bundle can sit inside another bundle, where each nested bundle uses 1/16 of the outer capacity plus the space of its own contents. A Shulker Box cannot go into a bundle, although a Shulker Box can hold Green Bundle. A bundle that is destroyed as a dropped item, for example in fire or on a Cactus, spills its contents as separate items. The green color lets a player tell Green Bundle apart from the other dyed bundles at a glance, so the color hints at what the bundle holds.

Guide

How to make and use Green Bundle in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Craft a bundle

String and Leather combine into one undyed bundle at a Crafting Table.

  2. 2

    Dye the bundle green

Any bundle and one Green Dye combine into Green Bundle at a Crafting Table. In Java, a bundle that is already green cannot be dyed green again.

  3. 3

    Load items

A left-click on an item stores the clicked item in Green Bundle once Green Bundle is picked up with the cursor in the inventory screen, and a left-click on Green Bundle stores the items already held by the cursor.

  4. 4

    Take items out

A right-click on Green Bundle takes out the most recently added item, and the mouse wheel over Green Bundle selects a different item first.

  5. 5

    Throw out the contents

Green Bundle, selected in the hotbar, throws out one group of items in the direction the player faces each time Green Bundle is used.

Watch the fullness bar

The blue bar on the Green Bundle icon turns red once the bundle is full, so a full Green Bundle is visible right in the inventory.

Frequently asked questions

How many items fit in Green Bundle?

Green Bundle holds 64 bundle slots: 32 Sticks and 8 Ender Pearls fill it completely, because a Stick takes 1 slot and an Ender Pearl takes 4.

Which Minecraft versions have Green Bundle?

Dyed bundles in 16 colors arrived in Java Edition 1.21.2 and in Bedrock Edition 1.21.40.

Is Green Bundle renewable?

Yes, Green Bundle is renewable (it can be crafted again and again), and its rarity is common.

Can a bundle be found without crafting?

Yes, undyed bundles appear in some village chests, in Java since 1.21.5 and in Bedrock since 1.21.70. Green Dye then turns that bundle into Green Bundle.

Why are bundles dyed in only 16 colors?

Mojang judged that recognizing a bundle's color quickly matters more than full customization, so bundles use the 16 standard dye colors.
