Description

Light Gray Bundle is a bundle dyed light gray, made by combining any bundle with Light Gray Dye in a shapeless recipe, so the ingredients can sit anywhere in the crafting grid. A plain bundle is crafted from 1 string and 1 leather. Light Gray Bundle is one of 16 dyed bundle colors, added to Java Edition in 1.21.2 and to Bedrock Edition in 1.21.40, and it does not stack.

Light Gray Bundle holds as many items as fit into 64 bundle slots of space. Items that stack to 64 take 1 slot each, items that stack to 16, such as eggs and ender pearls, take 4 slots each, and items that do not stack, such as swords, fill the whole Light Gray Bundle by themselves. Another bundle can go inside Light Gray Bundle and takes 1/16 of the space plus the space of its own contents.

Guide

How to dye and use a Light Gray Bundle in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Craft a bundle

A vertical pair of 1 string over 1 leather on the crafting grid produces a plain bundle, and any bundle already owned works too.

  2. 2

    Add the dye

The crafting grid combines that bundle with 1 Light Gray Dye in any arrangement to produce a Light Gray Bundle.

  3. 3

    Load items

In the inventory screen, left-clicking a Light Gray Bundle with items on the cursor stores them, and left-clicking items with the bundle on the cursor stores them too.

  4. 4

    Take items out

Right-clicking a Light Gray Bundle with an empty cursor takes out the most recently added item, and the mouse wheel selects another item first.

  5. 5

    Throw the contents

Using a Light Gray Bundle from the hotbar throws out the contents of the most recently added slot in the direction the player faces.

Watch the fullness bar

Hovering over a Light Gray Bundle shows a blue fullness bar that turns red once all 64 bundle slots are used.

Frequently asked questions

Can a Light Gray Bundle hold a shulker box?

No. Shulker boxes cannot be placed inside any bundle, but a bundle can be placed inside a shulker box.

Does a Light Gray Bundle add inventory space?

No. A Light Gray Bundle stores only what would otherwise add up to a single slot, so total capacity stays the same, and the benefit is mixing different item types in one slot.

Can a Light Gray Bundle be dyed again?

Yes. The recipe accepts any bundle, so a Light Gray Bundle can be dyed another color with a matching dye, but in Java Edition a bundle cannot be dyed the color it already has.

What happens to the contents if a Light Gray Bundle is destroyed?

When a Light Gray Bundle is destroyed as a dropped item, for example in fire or on a cactus, its contents drop as separate items.
