Description

The Wrench is the hand tool of the Ala Industrial mod for Minecraft Java Edition 26.2 on Fabric and NeoForge, crafted on a crafting table from 3 iron ingots and 1 Iron Gear arranged in a wrench silhouette. The Wrench is an item rather than a placeable block, with no durability bar and a stack size of exactly 1, so one crafted copy serves an entire Ala Industrial base. A plain Wrench right-click on any face of an Item Pipe or a Fluid Pipe cycles that face through a fixed ladder of modes — NEUTRAL → EXTRACT → INSERT → DISABLED — and only the clicked face changes, with the new mode announced in the action bar. A click on a free side of a pipe resolves to the nearest connected inventory or pipe endpoint, so hidden faces stay reconfigurable without breaking the line.

Shift + right-click with the Wrench cleanly dismantles any Ala Industrial block — solar panel, machine, cable or the pipe itself — and the dismantled block drops as an item with stored energy and full inventory preserved, to the sound of a loosened bolt and without a pickaxe. On a pipe-to-pipe segment in the middle of a run, the Wrench only toggles joined and cut states (DISABLED ↔ NEUTRAL), because extract and insert modes are meaningless between two pipes. The whole crafting chain is renewable: the Iron Gear is 4 iron ingots around a wooden gear, and the wooden gear is 4 sticks plus 1 wooden button. Keep one Wrench in a chest beside the pipe network, because switching a face mode is the fastest way to reroute items and fluids in Ala Industrial.

How to use the Wrench in Ala Industrial

  1. 1

    Craft the Wrench

Place 3 iron ingots and 1 Iron Gear on a crafting table in the shape of a wrench — the result is exactly 1 Wrench.

  2. 2

    Set a pipe face mode

Right-click a face of an Item Pipe or a Fluid Pipe to cycle that face through NEUTRAL → EXTRACT → INSERT → DISABLED, with the new mode shown in the action bar.

  3. 3

Join or cut a pipe segment

On a pipe-to-pipe connection in the middle of a run, the Wrench toggles only joined and cut states, because extract and insert modes are meaningless between two pipes.

  4. 4

    Dismantle with shift + right-click

Shift + right-click any Ala Industrial block — solar panel, machine, cable or pipe — and the block drops as an item with stored energy and full inventory, no pickaxe required.

One Wrench serves the whole base

The Wrench has no durability bar, is never consumed by a machine recipe, and stacks to exactly 1, so a second copy as backup is unnecessary.

Frequently asked questions

How do you craft the Wrench in Ala Industrial?

The Wrench is crafted on a crafting table from 3 iron ingots and 1 Iron Gear arranged in a wrench silhouette, and the recipe yields exactly 1 Wrench.

Does the Wrench break or lose durability?

No. The Wrench is a hand tool with no durability bar, and no machine recipe consumes it. The stack size is exactly 1, so one copy serves an entire base.

What does a plain right-click with the Wrench do?

A plain right-click on a face of an Item Pipe or a Fluid Pipe cycles that face through the fixed ladder NEUTRAL → EXTRACT → INSERT → DISABLED, and only the clicked face changes.

Does the Wrench work on Fluid Pipes?

Yes. A Fluid Pipe face responds to the same right-click ladder as an Item Pipe face, so both pipe types are configured identically.

What does shift + right-click with the Wrench do?

Shift + right-click cleanly dismantles any Ala Industrial block — solar panel, machine, cable or the pipe itself. The block drops as an item with its stored energy and full inventory preserved, and no pickaxe is needed.

Is the Wrench renewable?

Yes. The Iron Gear is 4 iron ingots around a wooden gear, and the wooden gear is 4 sticks plus 1 wooden button, so the whole chain restocks from iron and wood farms.
