Description

Iron Gear is the workhorse crafting component of the Ala Industrial mod, an intermediate item rather than a placeable block. Players forge one Iron Gear on a 3×3 crafting grid by arranging four iron ingots in a cross (north, east, south, west) around a Wooden Gear in the center, yielding a single gear per craft. The recipe unlocks in the recipe book once a player holds both a Wooden Gear and an iron ingot. Iron Gear uses no EU (energy) and carries no tier of its own, because it is a plain ingredient that exists to be consumed by other recipes. Iron Gear belongs to the four-member Metal Gears family (stone, iron, gold, silver), where iron is the practical tier that real machinery actually calls for. Iron Gear is the ingredient behind four Ala Industrial machines: the Wrench, the Fluid Tank, the Item Pipe (a stack of eight pipes per craft), and the Assembler, which takes two Iron Gears. A Master-level Industrialist villager also sells one Iron Gear for four emeralds (12 trades, 30 XP each) as a convenience shortcut. Because Iron Gear is built from renewable iron, dropped by iron golems, and renewable wood, the component is fully renewable. Iron Gear works identically on Fabric and NeoForge for Minecraft 26.2 Java Edition, and stacks up to 64.

How to craft an Iron Gear in Ala Industrial

    Gather the materials

    Collect four iron ingots, by smelting raw iron or defeating iron golems, and one Wooden Gear, which is itself four sticks around a wooden button.

    Open a 3×3 crafting grid

    Right-click a crafting table to open the full 3×3 grid; the 2×2 inventory grid cannot fit the cross pattern an Iron Gear needs.

    Place the iron cross

    Put one iron ingot in the north, east, south, and west slots, leave the corners empty, and drop the Wooden Gear in the center.

    Collect the Iron Gear

    Take the single Iron Gear from the result slot. The recipe unlocks in the recipe book the first time you hold a Wooden Gear and an iron ingot together.

A Master-level Industrialist villager sells one Iron Gear for four emeralds, up to 12 times, if you would rather trade than craft.
