Portable Fluid Tank
Portable Fluid Tank holds 8 buckets of water, lava, or mod fluid behind a see-through glass frame, with contents kept when the tank is broken and moved.
Description
Portable Fluid Tank holds only one fluid at a time, so water and lava never mix inside the same block. A filled tank item carries a single atomic fluid component, keeps the exact type and volume when mined, and restores them after the block is placed again, while the empty tank item stacks to 64. A redstone comparator reads 0 from an empty tank and 1–15 in proportion to fill. The Portable Fluid Tank recipe is five tin ingots, three glass panes, one iron gear, and one redstone across a 3×3 crafting grid, and the block works identically on Fabric and NeoForge.

How to use the Portable Fluid Tank in Minecraft
-
1
Craft the tank
Combine five tin ingots, three glass panes, one iron gear, and one redstone in a 3×3 crafting grid to craft one Portable Fluid Tank.
-
2
Fill the tank
Right-click the placed tank with a water bucket, a lava bucket, or a Vacuum Capsule to push 1000 mB in, or connect a pipe from another mod to any of the six faces.
-
3
Read the fill level
Check the visible fluid level through the glass walls, or run a redstone comparator from the tank for a 0–15 signal that scales with how full the tank is.
-
4
Move the tank full
Mine the filled tank with a pickaxe and the exact fluid type and volume stay in the dropped item, then place the tank again to restore the contents without loss.
The Portable Fluid Tank holds a single fluid variant at once, so water and lava cannot share the same tank. Empty tank items stack to 64, but a filled tank item only stacks to 1.

Frequently asked questions
How much fluid does the Portable Fluid Tank hold?
The Portable Fluid Tank holds 8000 mB, equal to 8 buckets, of a single fluid at a time, and never mixes two fluids in one tank.
Does the Portable Fluid Tank need EU power?
No. The Portable Fluid Tank is fully passive — it consumes no EU, has no menu, and does not push fluid on its own.
Does the Portable Fluid Tank keep its fluid when broken?
Yes. The filled tank item stores the exact fluid type and volume in one atomic component, and mining the tank with a pickaxe preserves the contents until the block is placed again.
What is the recipe for the Portable Fluid Tank?
The recipe is five tin ingots, three glass panes, one iron gear, and one redstone arranged in a 3×3 crafting grid, producing one Portable Fluid Tank.
How does a redstone comparator read the Portable Fluid Tank?
A redstone comparator outputs 0 when the Portable Fluid Tank is empty and a signal of 1–15 proportional to how full the tank is.
Does the Portable Fluid Tank work on Fabric and NeoForge?
Yes. The Portable Fluid Tank behaves identically on Fabric and NeoForge for Minecraft 26.2, and accepts fluids from other mods through any of its six faces.
