Description

Tin Dust is the ground form of tin in Ala Industrial, produced by running tin ore, raw tin, or a tin ingot through a Macerator. The Macerator is an LV machine that draws 2 EU/t for 150 ticks, so each grinding cycle costs 300 EU. One ore block or one raw tin yields two Tin Dust, while a finished ingot grinds into only one, which means ore doubling works on ore and raw but not on ingots. Every Tin Dust smelts back into a tin ingot in a furnace, blast furnace, or Electric Furnace, making dust the hub of the ore-doubling loop players lean on at the very start of a run, when tin is spent in bulk on tin cables, the Electronic Circuit, and tin plates.

How to get Tin Dust in Ala Industrial

    Mine tin ore

    Tin ore spawns in stone and deepslate at middling depths in Ala Industrial; mine it with a stone pickaxe or better to drop raw tin.

    Build and power a Macerator

    The Macerator is an LV machine with an 800 EU buffer; supply it 2 EU/t so it can run its 150-tick grinding cycles.

    Macerate ore or raw tin

    Place one ore block or one raw tin in the Macerator to grind it into 2 Tin Dust; a finished ingot only yields 1 dust.

    Smelt the dust into ingots

    Cook each Tin Dust in a furnace, blast furnace, or Electric Furnace to recover one tin ingot — two ingots per ore.

No free duplication

A finished tin ingot grinds into only 1 Tin Dust, so reprocessing an ingot is net-zero. Ore doubling works only on ore blocks and raw drops.
