Tempered Iron Plating
Tempered Iron Plating is the decorative tech-panel block built from 4 Tempered Iron Plates, reversible back into them with zero loss.
Description
Tempered Iron Plating carries no mechanic at all — no energy, no internal logic, no machine recipes — so it is free to place wherever the look matters: control rooms, reactor halls, futuristic interiors. Every plate behind it starts as a Tempered Iron ingot smelted 1:1 from vanilla iron (hammer it with the 128-durability Forge Hammer, 1 per plate, or press it in the Compressor for 260 EU), which makes the whole block renewable through iron golem farms. One stack of 64 blocks stores 256 plates and unpacks back into 4 plates per block. Pair the plating with the second decorative plate block, Silver Plating, and the working Machine Casing for mixed metallic paneling — the plating itself never enters a machine recipe, so a wall of it never locks material away.

Guide
How to craft Tempered Iron Plating in Ala Industrial
-
1
Make 4 Tempered Iron Plates
Smelt vanilla iron ingots 1:1 into Tempered Iron, then hammer each ingot with the Forge Hammer (1 of its 128 durability per plate) or press it in the Compressor for 260 EU.
-
2
Assemble the block in a 2×2 square
Place the 4 Tempered Iron Plates as a square in any crafting grid to shape one Tempered Iron Plating block.
-
3
Clad your build in tech panels
Place the blocks as wall or floor cladding — the screen-and-lines texture is designed for control rooms, reactor halls, and futuristic interiors.
-
4
Uncraft it whenever plates are needed
Put one Tempered Iron Plating anywhere in the crafting grid to unpack exactly 4 Tempered Iron Plates — reversible, no loss, as many cycles as you like.
Tempered Iron Plating drops itself only when mined with a pickaxe of any tier; breaking it bare-handed or with the wrong tool destroys the block with no drop, like vanilla iron.

Frequently asked questions
What is the exact Tempered Iron Plating recipe in Ala Industrial?
Four Tempered Iron Plates placed in a 2×2 square craft one Tempered Iron Plating block. The reverse recipe — one block anywhere in the crafting grid — returns exactly 4 plates.
Is Tempered Iron Plating reversible without loss?
Yes. One block unpacks into exactly 4 plates, the same amount used to craft it, so repeated craft and uncraft cycles never cost a single plate.
What tool breaks Tempered Iron Plating?
Any pickaxe breaks it and keeps the drop; bare-handed or wrong-tool mining destroys the block with no drop. Hardness 5 and blast resistance 6 match a vanilla iron block.
Does Tempered Iron Plating have any mechanics or energy?
No. It is a plain block with no internal logic: it stores no EU and enters no machine recipe — its only job is the tech-panel look.
Is Tempered Iron Plating renewable?
Yes. Each of its 4 plates comes from a Tempered Iron ingot smelted 1:1 from vanilla iron, and iron is renewable through iron golem farms — the Forge Hammer is even repaired with iron ingots.
