Description

The Tempered Iron Leggings are the leg piece of Ala Industrial's tempered iron armor set for Minecraft 26.2 (Java Edition). The leggings give 5 armor points — exactly the same protection as iron leggings — while lasting longer at 255 durability versus 225 (about 13% more), and they add +1.0 toughness plus 12 enchantability, up from iron's 9. Together with the helmet, chestplate, and boots, the Tempered Iron Leggings bring the full set to 15 armor points, and the legs carry the second-heaviest share of that protection after the chestplate.

Craft the Tempered Iron Leggings at a crafting table from seven tempered iron ingots in the classic leggings pattern: three ingots across the top row and one down each side. Tempered iron is smelted 1:1 from ordinary iron ingots in a furnace, a blast furnace, or the mod's EU-powered Electric Furnace. Repair the leggings at an anvil with more tempered iron, exactly like vanilla iron gear. Wild zombies and skeletons can also spawn wearing tempered armor — about a 4% set chance for zombies and 2.5% for skeletons, scaled by difficulty — but the random armor fill usually stops after one or two pieces, so stripping a full kit off a mob is rare. Each worn piece drops from the corpse with the vanilla 8.5% chance per level of Looting. Ala Industrial runs on both the Fabric and NeoForge loaders.

How to craft and use the Tempered Iron Leggings in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Smelt tempered iron

Smelt ordinary iron ingots 1:1 into tempered iron in a furnace, a blast furnace, or the mod's Electric Furnace — one pair of leggings costs seven ingots.

  2. 2

    Craft the leggings

At a crafting table, lay seven tempered iron ingots in the vanilla leggings pattern: three across the top row and one down each side, leaving the center column empty.

  3. 3

    Equip the leggings

Place the Tempered Iron Leggings in the legs armor slot to gain 5 armor points, +1.0 toughness, and the familiar iron-set equip sound.

  4. 4

    Enchant freely

The leggings take every vanilla armor enchantment at 12 enchantability — higher than iron's 9 — so Protection and Unbreaking roll more often.

  5. 5

    Repair at an anvil

Combine damaged Tempered Iron Leggings with tempered iron ingots at an anvil to restore durability, the same way vanilla iron armor repairs.

Good to know

The Tempered Iron Leggings need no power: they are plain armor, and unlike the mod's Fluxweave set they never consume EU.

Frequently asked questions

How do you craft the Tempered Iron Leggings?

Arrange seven tempered iron ingots at a crafting table in the vanilla leggings pattern: three across the top row and one down each side. Smelt regular iron ingots 1:1 into tempered iron first.

Are the Tempered Iron Leggings better than iron leggings?

Protection is identical at 5 armor points, but the Tempered Iron Leggings last 255 durability versus 225 (about 13% more), add +1.0 toughness, and raise enchantability from 9 to 12.

How do you repair the Tempered Iron Leggings?

Combine them with tempered iron ingots at an anvil — the same material the leggings are crafted from, exactly like repairing vanilla iron armor.

Can you get the Tempered Iron Leggings without crafting them?

Rarely. Wild zombies and skeletons can spawn wearing tempered armor — roughly 4% of zombies and 2.5% of skeletons, scaled by difficulty — and a worn piece drops with the vanilla 8.5% chance per level of Looting.

Is the Tempered Iron Leggings recipe renewable?

Yes. Tempered iron smelts 1:1 from iron ingots, and iron is fully renewable, so the seven ingots per pair of leggings are a renewable cost.

Which Minecraft versions include the Tempered Iron Leggings?

The Tempered Iron Leggings ship with Ala Industrial for Minecraft 26.2 (Java Edition) on the Fabric and NeoForge loaders. There is no Bedrock version.
