Tempered Iron Helmet
Tempered Iron Helmet — Ala Industrial head armor with iron-level protection, 187 durability, +1.0 toughness, and 12 enchantability.
Description
Craft the Tempered Iron Helmet at a crafting table from five tempered iron ingots in the classic helmet pattern: three ingots across the top row and one on each side below. Tempered iron itself is smelted 1:1 from ordinary iron ingots in a furnace, a blast furnace, or the mod's EU-powered Electric Furnace. Repair the helmet at an anvil with more tempered iron, exactly like vanilla iron gear. Wild zombies and skeletons can also spawn wearing tempered armor (about a 4% set chance for zombies and 2.5% for skeletons, scaled by difficulty), and the Tempered Iron Helmet is the most common trophy piece on such mobs. Ala Industrial runs on both the Fabric and NeoForge loaders.

How to craft and use the Tempered Iron Helmet in Minecraft
-
1
Smelt tempered iron
Smelt ordinary iron ingots into tempered iron at a 1:1 ratio — a furnace, a blast furnace, or the EU-powered Electric Furnace all work.
-
2
Craft the helmet
Place five tempered iron ingots on a crafting table in the vanilla helmet pattern: three ingots across the top row and one on each side of the middle row.
-
3
Equip the helmet
Drag the Tempered Iron Helmet into the head armor slot to gain its 2 armor points and 1.0 toughness.
-
4
Enchant freely
With 12 enchantability, the Tempered Iron Helmet accepts enchantments a little more readily than an iron helmet at 9.
-
5
Repair at an anvil
Combine the damaged Tempered Iron Helmet with tempered iron ingots at an anvil to restore durability.
Wild zombies (about a 4% set chance) and skeletons (about 2.5%), scaled by difficulty, can spawn wearing tempered armor, and the helmet is the most common piece — killed mobs drop worn gear at the vanilla 8.5% chance.

Frequently asked questions
How do you craft the Tempered Iron Helmet?
Arrange five tempered iron ingots on a crafting table in the vanilla helmet pattern — three ingots across the top and one on each side — to make one Tempered Iron Helmet.
Is the Tempered Iron Helmet better than an iron helmet?
Protection is identical at 2 armor points, but the Tempered Iron Helmet offers 187 instead of 165 durability, +1.0 toughness, and 12 instead of 9 enchantability.
How do you repair the Tempered Iron Helmet?
Combine the damaged helmet with tempered iron ingots at an anvil — the same material it is crafted from.
Can you get the Tempered Iron Helmet without crafting it?
Yes. Wild zombies (about a 4% set chance) and skeletons (about 2.5%) can spawn wearing tempered armor scaled by difficulty, and the helmet is the most common piece. Killed mobs drop worn gear at the vanilla 8.5% chance.
Is the Tempered Iron Helmet renewable?
Yes. Iron is renewable in Minecraft, for example from iron golem farms, and the Tempered Iron Helmet is crafted and repaired from tempered iron smelted 1:1 from iron ingots.
Which Minecraft versions include the Tempered Iron Helmet?
The Tempered Iron Helmet is part of Ala Industrial for Minecraft 26.2 (Java Edition) and works on both the Fabric and NeoForge loaders.
