Shielding Pouch
Shielding Pouch is the lead-lined Battery Pouch upgrade: 128 weight (two stacks) in one slot, 2,000 EU on board, and contents that irradiate nobody.
Description
The one rule that makes the Shielding Pouch worth crafting: radioactive contents irradiate nobody — not the carrier, not nearby mobs, not other players — whether the pouch sits in a hand, on the floor or in someone else's chest. The shielding covers only what lies inside the pouch, so uranium loose in the same inventory, ore piles on the ground, irradiated soil and a running reactor column still radiate as before: the Shielding Suit keeps its job, and the stationary Shielding Chest (36 slots) still handles bulk storage. At zero charge the contents lock but stay shielded, and a pouch destroyed by lava or an explosion drops its load on the ground, where uranium radiates like any uranium on the floor.

How to use the Shielding Pouch in Minecraft
-
1
Craft the upgrade
Combine one Battery Pouch with four Shielding Plates in a crafting grid; the layout does not matter. The transmute recipe carries the charge, the contents and any custom name over to the Shielding Pouch.
-
2
Charge the pouch
Drop the Shielding Pouch into the Battery Box charge slot. A full 2,000 EU charge takes about 3 seconds.
-
3
Load the uranium
Right-click a stack of uranium ore onto the Shielding Pouch inside your inventory. Items top up partial stacks of the same type first, up to 128 weight — about two stacks of ore.
-
4
Haul and unload
Walk the Shielding Pouch out of the mine: the uranium inside irradiates nobody. Right-click the pouch in the air to pull out the whole top stack, last in, first out.
A flat Shielding Pouch keeps shielding its contents and only blocks putting and taking until recharged. The pouch does not replace the Shielding Suit: a uranium ingot loose in the same inventory still radiates, and so do a running reactor column, ore piles and irradiated soil.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Shielding Pouch block all radiation?
The Shielding Pouch blocks radiation from the items inside it — in a hand, on the floor or in a chest. Outside sources such as a running reactor column, uranium piles and irradiated soil still reach the player, so the Shielding Suit stays necessary around them.
How much does the Shielding Pouch hold?
One inventory slot holds 128 weight: about 128 ore, ingot or dust items that stack to 64, 32 items that stack to 16, or two unstackable tools — the same weight arithmetic as a vanilla bundle.
How is the Shielding Pouch crafted?
A transmute recipe turns one Battery Pouch plus four Shielding Plates (shielding alloy of palladium and tempered iron) into the pouch. Charge, contents and custom name survive, so a full pouch can be upgraded without unpacking it.
What happens when the 2,000 EU buffer runs flat?
The contents lock: nothing goes in or out until the Shielding Pouch is recharged, but the shielding keeps working. The 1 EU per second drain applies only while items are inside and the pouch is carried; in creative mode the pouch does not drain at all.
What happens if the Shielding Pouch itself is destroyed?
Burnt in lava, caught by an explosion or popped on a cactus, the Shielding Pouch drops its contents on the ground instead of vanishing — and there the uranium radiates like any uranium on the floor.
