Shielding Chestplate is the jacket of the four-piece shielding suit — hood, chestplate, trousers and boots — the only wearable radiation protection in the Ala Industrial mod. Each worn piece stops 25% of the radiation dose: the Shielding Chestplate alone removes a quarter of incoming radiation, while the complete set blocks uranium carried in your own pockets outright and cuts an external field by 95%. As combat armour the chestplate is weak on purpose: 3 armor points at the leather line and 10 enchantability, because a cheap craft with iron-grade numbers would replace iron armour for the wrong reason. The recipe is deliberately early: 4 leather, 4 rubber and 1 yellow dye on a crafting table, laid out as a torso — leather from cows, dye from dandelions, rubber from the Vulcanizer.

Durability is the running cost: any contact with uranium wears the Shielding Chestplate — roughly one point per second beside a live reactor column, once every 2 seconds with enriched uranium in the pockets, once every 8 seconds near ore — and a broken piece stops shielding until it is repaired with rubber at an anvil. Distance multiplies the protection: a single block of separation triples the time to a lethal dose, and three to four blocks leave it barely climbing. Even the full set always passes about 5% of an external field, so an open reactor core buys minutes of work, not immunity. The chestplate also carries shock insulation, cutting the electric hit of a bare cable by 25% per worn piece.
