Description

Shielding Alloy Ingot is the nuclear-branch material of the Ala Industrial mod: the Alloy Smelter melts 1 Palladium Ingot and 3 Tempered Iron into three ingots per operation at 1200 EU. One smelt runs 150 ticks — about 7.5 seconds at 8 EU/t — and the three-ingot yield is the best among the mod's five alloys, working out to 400 EU per ingot. Palladium is read through the common c:ingots/palladium tag, so palladium from another mod counts, while Tempered Iron must be the Ala Industrial item itself; that half of the recipe stays cheap, because Tempered Iron is simply vanilla iron resmelted one-to-one. Shielding Alloy Ingot has no ore, no dust form and no way back into its ingredients, and neither a furnace nor a blast furnace can produce it.

The Shielding Alloy Ingot itself crafts into nothing directly — every reactor-room part asks for plates. One ingot becomes one Shielding Plate in the Compressor for 260 EU, or under a Forge Hammer on a crafting table, with no energy cost. Two Shielding Plates plus one Depleted Uranium hammer into a Reinforced Shielding Plate, the only form with no machine path at all. Reactor Casing converts two plates into eight blocks, so the room's walls stay affordable, while the Reactor Airlock Door and the Reactor Controller are the parts that spend reinforced plates. Fuel Rod Cladding returns after a rod burns out, so that plate is paid once per reactor instead of every cycle. Shielding Alloy Ingot exists only in Minecraft 26.2 Java Edition, on Fabric and NeoForge.

Java Edition Guide

How to make Shielding Alloy Ingot in Ala Industrial

  1. 1

    Build an Alloy Smelter

Craft the Alloy Smelter and power it with at least 8 EU/t so one alloying operation runs from start to finish.

  2. 2

    Smelt the alloy

Load 1 Palladium Ingot and 3 Tempered Iron into the Alloy Smelter; after 150 ticks and 1200 EU it drops three Shielding Alloy Ingots.

  3. 3

    Roll a Shielding Plate

Send the ingot through a Compressor for 260 EU, or combine a Forge Hammer with the ingot on a crafting table.

  4. 4

    Reinforce two plates

Craft a Forge Hammer, 2 Shielding Plates and 1 Depleted Uranium together on a crafting table to get a Reinforced Shielding Plate — no machine can do this step.

  5. 5

    Build the reactor room

Turn 2 plates into 8 Reactor Casing blocks and save the Reinforced Shielding Plates for the Reactor Airlock Door and the Reactor Controller.

Where Depleted Uranium comes from

A Thermal Centrifuge splits 1 Uranium Ingot into 2 Depleted Uranium for 800 EU. Palladium from another mod works too: the Alloy Smelter reads the common ingot tag.

Frequently asked questions

How do you craft Shielding Alloy Ingot?

The Alloy Smelter combines 1 Palladium Ingot with 3 Tempered Iron into 3 Shielding Alloy Ingots per operation, at 1200 EU and 150 ticks (about 7.5 seconds).

Can a regular furnace make Shielding Alloy Ingot?

No. The Alloy Smelter is the only source, and the alloy has no ore and no dust form, so no furnace or blast furnace recipe exists.

What does the ingot turn into?

One Shielding Alloy Ingot becomes one Shielding Plate — in a Compressor for 260 EU, or with a Forge Hammer on a crafting table. Every reactor-room craft starts from the plate.

What goes into a Reinforced Shielding Plate?

2 Shielding Plates and 1 Depleted Uranium, hammered on a crafting table. This is the only shielding form without a machine recipe.

Is Shielding Alloy Ingot renewable (can it be farmed endlessly)?

No. Palladium comes only from a finite Nether ore, and the alloy cannot be recycled back into its ingredients.
