The Wooden Scythe is the entry tier of the eight-material scythe line added by the Ala Industrial mod for Minecraft 26.2 (Java Edition). A right-click mows decorative foliage — leaves, grass, flowers, ferns, mushrooms, vines, and saplings — in a flat patch 3 blocks wide, 2 deep, and 3 tall in front of the player, breaking up to 12 plants per swing; crops are deliberately left untouched in this mode. Holding Shift switches the same swing to harvest mode, which cuts only fully mature plants: wheat, carrots, potatoes, and beetroot at maximum age, ripe sweet berry bushes, and the blocks above a cactus or sugar cane base. The recipe is deliberately cheap — any three planks and two sticks in a custom scythe shape at a crafting table — so the Wooden Scythe is available from the first day of a survival world.

The Wooden Scythe has 59 durability and spends exactly 1 point per plant actually broken, in either mode and regardless of hardness, so short grass wears the blade exactly like leaves. Unlike higher tiers, the Wooden Scythe grants no bonus seed at all — the chance for an extra seed while harvesting starts at the stone tier with 5%. Fortune and Silk Touch both change the mowed drops because every break is tool-aware, and the tool accepts hoe enchantments such as Efficiency, Unbreaking, and Mending at the enchanting table. The Wooden Scythe is a pure hand tool: no EU energy, no machines, and identical behavior on Fabric and NeoForge — the cheapest way to learn the mod's scythe mechanic before crafting the stone tier.
