Copper Scythe
Copper Scythe mows a 3×3 patch of leaves, grass or ripe crops in one right-click, with 190 durability and an 8% bonus seed chance.
Description
The Copper Scythe is crafted at a workbench from three copper ingots and two sticks in a shape deliberately different from the vanilla hoe, and it repairs at an anvil with copper ingots. In harvest mode every true crop cut — wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroot or the torchflower crop — has an 8% chance to drop one bonus seed, a roll that is independent of Fortune and stacks with it. As a hoe-type tool the Copper Scythe takes Efficiency, Unbreaking, Fortune, Silk Touch and Mending, though Efficiency does not make the instant area sweep any faster. The Copper Scythe uses no EU and belongs to none of Ala Industrial's energy tiers: it is a pure hand tool that works identically on Fabric and NeoForge, sitting between the stone scythe (same 3×3 shape, 18-block cap) and the iron scythe (5×3, 30-block cap).

How to use the Copper Scythe in Minecraft
-
1
Craft the Copper Scythe
Combine three copper ingots and two sticks at a workbench in the custom scythe shape: two ingots across the top row, a stick and an ingot in the middle row, and one stick directly below that stick. The recipe appears in the recipe book as soon as you pick up a copper ingot.
-
2
Mow foliage with a plain right-click
Right-click a plant from the main hand and the Copper Scythe clears a flat 3×3 area three blocks tall of leaves, grass, flowers, ferns, mushrooms, vines and saplings. Every block drops its normal loot, exactly as if broken by hand.
-
3
Harvest crops with Shift held
Hold Shift and right-click to switch the Copper Scythe into harvest mode. Only fully mature crops are cut — wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroot and ripe sweet berry bushes, plus cactus and sugar cane above their base — so unripe seedlings and melon or pumpkin stems are left untouched.
-
4
Enchant the Copper Scythe like a hoe
The Copper Scythe takes Efficiency, Unbreaking, Fortune, Silk Touch and Mending at the enchanting table and anvil. Fortune boosts the main drop while the 8% bonus-seed roll stacks on top of it, and Mending can refill the durability bar with collected XP.
-
5
Watch the durability bar
Each of the 190 durability points covers one actually broken plant, and short grass wears the tool exactly like leaves. When the Copper Scythe runs low, repair it with copper ingots at an anvil.
The Copper Scythe is a hand tool that consumes no EU, and the per-swing cap of 24 blocks always applies — candidates are mowed nearest-first, so the block you click always breaks first. It never cuts logs, dirt, bamboo, kelp, the moss block or melon and pumpkin stems in either mode.

Frequently asked questions
How do you craft the Copper Scythe in Ala Industrial?
Combine three copper ingots and two sticks at a workbench in the custom scythe shape — two ingots on top, a stick and an ingot in the middle, and a stick below. The recipe unlocks in the recipe book once you pick up a copper ingot.
What area does the Copper Scythe clear in one swing?
The Copper Scythe mows a flat 3×3 patch in front of you, three blocks tall, and takes at most 24 plants per swing. The block you click is always cut first; farther blocks follow nearest-first.
Does the Copper Scythe destroy unripe crops?
No. A plain right-click ignores crops entirely, and Shift + right-click cuts only fully mature ones. Unripe seedlings, melon and pumpkin stems, bamboo, kelp, logs and dirt are never touched.
How does the Copper Scythe bonus seed chance work?
In harvest mode every true crop cut — wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroot or the torchflower crop — has an 8% chance to drop one extra seed. The roll is independent of Fortune and stacks with it; berries, cactus and sugar cane never grant it.
How long does the Copper Scythe last?
It has 190 durability, and every plant actually cut costs exactly one point — short grass wears it down just like leaves. Repair the Copper Scythe at an anvil with copper ingots.
Does the Copper Scythe need EU power or a machine?
No. The Copper Scythe is a pure hand tool with no EU consumption and no energy tier in Ala Industrial — it works from the main hand the same way on Fabric and NeoForge in Minecraft 26.2 (Java Edition).
