Description

Medium Mob Repeller is the second tier of the Ala Industrial guard field: while the block is powered, hostile mobs flee a 16-block radius (a 33×33×33 cube) and cannot approach the base. Passive animals, villagers and calm neutral mobs stay untouched, and an angered enderman simply teleports away. The field is a constant upkeep cost — 32 EU/t charged every tick while the block is enabled, so a quiet night costs exactly as much as a siege. An internal buffer of 8,000 EU carries the field through short outages, and the zone is swept every 10 ticks (half a second), fast enough that no monster crosses it.

Medium Mob Repeller cannot be crafted: it grows out of a Small Mob Repeller when you insert a Soul Vessel filled with 80 souls, and the stored energy carries over. Filling the vessel takes roughly 4 hours of play at 15–25 personal kills per hour, because a soul is registered only when the killing blow is the player's own. As an MV consumer the block accepts up to 128 EU/t — a basic LV line tops out at 32 EU/t, so run a cable of the matching class. At 250 souls the block grows again into the Large Mob Repeller with a 24-block radius, and souls beyond the threshold burn with the vessel. A redstone signal switches the field off, while the dome button shows the zone boundary to you alone.

How to get Medium Mob Repeller in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Craft the small tier first

Assemble a Small Mob Repeller at a crafting table: 4 silver plates in the corners, a soul lantern on top, 2 copper coils on the sides, an advanced machine casing in the centre and an advanced circuit at the bottom.

  2. 2

Fill a Soul Vessel with 80 souls

Craft a Soul Vessel and keep it in your inventory — every hostile mob killed by you personally adds one soul. Trap damage is fine as long as the final blow is yours.

  3. 3

    Insert the vessel

Open the Small Mob Repeller, place the full Soul Vessel into its slot and the block grows into Medium Mob Repeller on the next tick, keeping the stored energy.

  4. 4

    Connect an MV-class cable

Medium Mob Repeller draws 32 EU/t constantly and accepts up to 128 EU/t, so a basic LV line cannot feed it. Run an MV cable from the grid to keep the 8,000 EU buffer full.

  5. 5

Preview the zone and wire control

Press the dome button in the block's screen to see the 33×33×33 boundary. A redstone signal from a lever or a comparator switches the field off when you need silence.

Important

Souls beyond the 80 threshold burn with the vessel — charge it for the tier you need. At 250 souls Medium Mob Repeller grows into the Large Mob Repeller with a 24-block radius.

Frequently asked questions

Can you craft Medium Mob Repeller?

No. The only way to get Medium Mob Repeller is to insert a Soul Vessel holding 80 souls into a Small Mob Repeller — the block grows into the medium tier on its own, keeping its stored energy.

How much power does Medium Mob Repeller use?

The field costs 32 EU/t as a constant upkeep while the block is enabled. The internal buffer holds 8,000 EU and the input accepts up to 128 EU/t, so an MV-class cable is required.

How large is the protection zone of Medium Mob Repeller?

The field covers a 33×33×33 cube — a 16-block radius in every direction, twice the radius of the Small Mob Repeller.

Does Medium Mob Repeller affect passive mobs and villagers?

No. Only hostile mobs flee the zone; passive animals, villagers, players and calm neutral mobs are untouched until provoked. A shulker is the single exception — it is anchored to its block and is not expelled.

How do you turn Medium Mob Repeller off?

Apply a redstone signal to the block — a lever, a button or a comparator switches the field off and stops the power draw. Remove the signal and the field runs again.

How do you upgrade Medium Mob Repeller to the large tier?

Insert a Soul Vessel with 250 souls and the block grows into the Large Mob Repeller with a 24-block radius. Souls above the threshold burn with the vessel, so do not overcharge it.
