Description
Jetpack is a wearable flight tool from Industrial Craft 2, strapped on like chest armor, that keeps the player airborne for as long as its fuel lasts. The recipe on a crafting table costs four Iron Item Casings, one Electronic Circuit, one Universal Fluid Cell, and two Redstone — one recipe shared by the legacy and experimental versions of the mod. The crafting output is a Jetpack (Empty), and an empty Jetpack cannot fly. A Canning Machine fills the empty Jetpack with Biogas, and only after that stop does the first flight become possible.
Holding the jump key makes the Jetpack climb, and releasing the key returns the player to free fall. Pressing the M key toggles Hover Mode, where holding the jump key produces a slow rise and releasing the key holds the current altitude. On a full tank, the Jetpack delivers about 60 seconds of proper flight, followed by roughly 8 seconds of low-power mode that only slows the player's descent. The ceiling of the Jetpack sits at about 245 meters above the bedrock layer. Jetpack Electric, the mostly superior electric version of the same tool, is still limited to about 185 meters above bedrock — roughly 60 meters below the fuel-powered Jetpack.

Craft an empty Jetpack
On a crafting table, place an Electronic Circuit in the top-middle slot, a Universal Fluid Cell in the center, an Iron Item Casing in each of the four slots around the center column, and one Redstone in each bottom corner. The result is one empty Jetpack.

Refuel with Biogas in a Canning Machine
A freshly crafted Jetpack is empty and cannot fly. Place the Jetpack in a Canning Machine together with Biogas to fill the tank before the first flight.

Equip the Jetpack and hold the jump key
Strap the Jetpack on in the chest armor slot and hold the jump key to climb; release the key to fall.
