Description
Item Buffer is a logistics block from the Industrial Craft 2 mod that bundles two chests and two hopper paths into a single one-block footprint. Items entering the buffer from above or below land in the green inventory, while items entering from any side land in the blue inventory, so vertical and horizontal item lines never mix. Item Buffer needs no EU (Industrial Craft 2's energy unit) to run: the block is fully passive and behaves like a smart intersection between two conveyor lines. A single Item Buffer stacks to 64 and was first added in Minecraft 1.7 alongside the IC2 Experimental rewrite.

Place the buffer at a line crossing
Set the Item Buffer where a vertical item line and a horizontal item line meet, so each direction feeds its own separate inventory.
