How to Make Industrial TNT in Minecraft
Industrial TNT
Industrial TNT is an Industrial Craft 2 explosive: 6 flint and 3 TNT craft into 4 charges with gentler blasts that save more ore.
Description
The design targets one number: mining with vanilla TNT wastes about 70% of the mineral gain, because the full-power explosion destroys most of the drops before pickup. Industrial TNT answers exactly that problem — a line of gentler charges breaks the stone and leaves the ore lying in the rubble. One stack holds 64 Industrial TNT blocks, sixteen crafting batches in a single inventory slot. Place the charges against the tunnel face, punch, and back away at once — the shorter fuse allows less time than regular TNT — then collect everything the softer blast spared.

Guide
How to craft and use Industrial TNT in Minecraft
-
1
Craft a batch of 4
Place 6 flint and 3 TNT on the crafting grid: TNT across the middle row with flint rows above and below, or TNT down the center column with flint in the other six cells. Both layouts return 4 Industrial TNT blocks.
-
2
Fill a stack of 64
Industrial TNT stacks to 64, so one inventory slot carries sixteen crafting batches — fill the stack before a long mining run.
-
3
Set the charges
Place Industrial TNT blocks against the tunnel face or the stone section to clear; the blast radius is slightly smaller than a regular TNT explosion, so keep the gaps between charges tight.
-
4
Punch to detonate
Strike an Industrial TNT block once to set it off — Industrial TNT explodes when punched, while regular TNT ignores the same hit.
-
5
Back away fast
Retreat behind cover the moment the punch lands: the fuse of Industrial TNT is slightly shorter than the fuse of regular TNT.
The 6 flint act as cutting material that lowers the direct power of each explosion — the reason Industrial TNT destroys far less ore than a full-power vanilla TNT blast, the kind that wastes about 70% of the mineral gain.

Frequently asked questions
How many Industrial TNT blocks does one craft yield?
Both recipes combine 6 flint and 3 TNT into 4 Industrial TNT blocks, so three regular charges become four industrial ones.
Is Industrial TNT stronger than regular TNT?
No. Industrial TNT carries less direct power than regular TNT: the blast radius is slightly smaller, and the reward is far less destroyed ore.
How is Industrial TNT ignited?
A single punch detonates an Industrial TNT block, while the same hit leaves regular TNT untouched.
How much time does the fuse give?
The fuse of Industrial TNT burns slightly shorter than the one on regular TNT, so start moving the instant the punch lands.
Why does the recipe include flint?
Flint serves as cutting material: mixing 6 flint into the 3 TNT charges weakens the direct power of the explosion, which keeps most of the ore intact.
