Induction Furnace is IndustrialCraft 2's top-tier electric smelter: two stacks at once, and full heat cuts each operation from 6,000 EU (mod energy) to 208 EU.
Description
Heat management decides whether the Induction Furnace pays off. Warming from 0% to 100% takes 10,000 ticks — 8 minutes 20 seconds — and about 10,000 EU, while an idle Induction Furnace cools four times faster, dropping back to zero in 2 minutes 5 seconds. A constant redstone signal holds the heat at 1 EU per tick while idle, so veteran players wire the Induction Furnace into an always-powered smelting room and load both input slots before big batches. Craft the Induction Furnace from an Electric Furnace, an Advanced Machine and copper. Two upgrade slots accept ejection and pulling upgrades for automated lines, and a Wrench dismantles the Induction Furnace without risk.

Craft the machine
Craft the Induction Furnace on a crafting table from an Electric Furnace, an Advanced Machine and copper — the standard upgrade path from the previous tier.

Connect safe power
Place the Induction Furnace and supply at most 128 EU/t: higher voltage explodes the Induction Furnace, and Transformer Upgrades offer no protection.

Load both input slots
Fill the two input slots of the Induction Furnace with smeltable items: two stacks processed at once save 50% of the energy and double the throughput.

Build and hold heat
Run batches back to back to push the heat gauge toward 100%, or apply a constant redstone signal — the Induction Furnace then spends 1 EU per tick while idle instead of cooling.

Automate the line
Install ejection and pulling upgrades into the two upgrade slots of the Induction Furnace, and keep a Wrench nearby for safe dismantling.
