Iron Furnace
Iron Furnace is an Ala Industrial fuel furnace that smelts one item every 150 ticks, about 1.33x faster than a vanilla furnace, with no EU cost.
Description
Craft Iron Furnace by wrapping a vanilla furnace in eight iron ingots in a 3x3 crafting grid; the block has hardness 3.5 and blast resistance 6.0, so mine it with a stone pickaxe or better to make it drop. Iron Furnace is a pure early-game upgrade for players who have not built a power grid yet: it needs no cables, no EU, and no EU storage, only the same solid fuel a vanilla furnace already uses. It is the natural stepping stone before the Electric Furnace, which switches the same smelting chain from fuel to EU power.

How to use an Iron Furnace in Ala Industrial
-
1
Craft the Iron Furnace
Place a vanilla furnace in the center of a 3x3 crafting grid and surround it with eight iron ingots to produce one Iron Furnace.
-
2
Place it like a normal furnace
Set Iron Furnace anywhere you would put a vanilla furnace; right-click to open the identical smelt slot, fuel slot, and progress arrow interface.
-
3
Load fuel and items
Fill the fuel slot with coal, charcoal, or planks and put the item to smelt in the top slot. Iron Furnace finishes each smelt in 150 ticks, about 1.33x faster than the vanilla furnace's 200 ticks.
-
4
Smelt mod recipes too
Iron Furnace accepts every vanilla smelting recipe plus the mod's dust-to-ingot and raw-to-ingot recipes, so the same furnace handles both ore and mod processing.
-
5
Mine it with a pickaxe
Iron Furnace has hardness 3.5 and blast resistance 6.0; break it with a stone pickaxe or better so the block drops instead of being lost.
Iron Furnace never connects to cables and consumes no EU — it runs entirely on solid fuel, making it useful before any power grid exists.

Frequently asked questions
How fast is the Iron Furnace?
Iron Furnace smelts one item every 150 ticks (7.5 seconds) versus the vanilla furnace's 200 ticks (10 seconds), so it is about 1.33x faster.
Does the Iron Furnace use EU?
No. Iron Furnace runs on solid fuel such as coal, charcoal, or planks, and consumes no EU, unlike the Electric Furnace which requires EU power.
How do you craft the Iron Furnace?
Place a vanilla furnace in the center of a 3x3 crafting grid and surround it with eight iron ingots to produce one Iron Furnace.
Can the Iron Furnace smelt mod recipes?
Yes. Iron Furnace accepts every vanilla smelting recipe and also the mod's dust-to-ingot and raw-to-ingot recipes on the same inputs.
What tool breaks the Iron Furnace fastest?
A stone pickaxe or better breaks Iron Furnace fastest and makes it drop; mining it by hand or with the wrong tool loses the block, which has hardness 3.5 and blast resistance 6.0.
