Description

HV Cable is the fourth tier of Industrial Craft 2 cable, rated to tolerate High Voltage at 512 EU/t and Extreme Voltage at 2048 EU/t. One Iron crafted with one charged Re Battery outputs 4 HV Cables, which keeps a full power trunk cheap to build. Voltage tolerance comes at the price of distance loss: HV Cable loses 0.8 EU every block, and 1 EU disappears after 1.25 blocks of wiring. Rubber turns bare HV Cable into insulated wire, with recipes at 1, 2 or 3 Rubber per cable for three insulation levels.

In an Industrial Craft 2 base, HV Cable carries 512 EU/t and 2048 EU/t current between machines and transformers. Two HV Cables, one Advanced Circuit, one Hv Transformer and one Lapotron Crystal craft the Ev Transformer. Detector Cable and Splitter Cable both build on HV Cable, so power-grid automation consumes the wire quickly. Rubber insulation reduces the massive energy losses of HV Cable on long cable runs.

    Combine one Iron with one charged Re Battery; the extruding recipe outputs 4 HV Cables per craft.
