Description
The Geothermal Generator is the lava power plant of Industrial Craft 2: every millibucket of lava burned produces 10 EU, so one lava bucket or one filled Universal Fluid Cell delivers 10,000 EU. The Geothermal Generator outputs 20 EU/t, and discharges from the 2,400 EU internal buffer reach 32 EU/t. The lava tank holds 8,000 mB — eight buckets — and the Geothermal Generator starts the moment lava lands in the input slot: no redstone signal required. When the EU buffer fills up, the Geothermal Generator pauses lava consumption instead of wasting fuel.
The recipe frames two Universal Fluid Cells with four Glass across the top two crafting rows and finishes with Iron, a Generator and Iron along the bottom row. Fuel economy beats coal: a piece of coal gives 4,000 EU at 10 EU/t in the basic Generator, while one lava bucket gives the Geothermal Generator 10,000 EU at 20 EU/t — 2.5 times the energy. Place a Pump next to the Geothermal Generator to pipe lava from a lake automatically, charge tier 1 batteries in the slot underneath, and when the base outgrows lava, the Geothermal Generator becomes the core of a Semifluid Generator. Lay Glass, a Universal Fluid Cell and Glass across each of the top two rows of a crafting table, then finish with Iron, a Generator and Iron along the bottom row.

Place and load lava
Set the Geothermal Generator down and drop lava buckets or filled Universal Fluid Cells into the upper-left slot; the tank accepts up to 8,000 mB.

Connect the power
Run a cable from the Geothermal Generator to the machines, or place a tier 1 battery in the charging slot underneath the gauges; the output runs at 20 EU/t.

Automate the lava supply
Place a Pump right next to the Geothermal Generator, and the Pump feeds lava straight into the tank — no buckets, no refilling.

Energy tip
The Geothermal Generator burns lava only while the 2,400 EU buffer has room, so fuel is never wasted. A removal always drops the stored lava and EU — drain the tank before moving the Geothermal Generator, and take the generator apart with a Wrench rather than a pickaxe.
