Description

Pellets of Enriched Uranium Nuclear Fuel is the intermediate crafting item used to produce Fuel Rod (Uranium) in the IndustrialCraft 2 (IC2) Nuclear Reactor chain. Pellets of Enriched Uranium Nuclear Fuel are made from 3 Small Pile of Plutonium and 6 Tiny Pile of U-238 in a shapeless recipe, combining material recovered from depleted fuel reprocessing with U-238 byproducts. Cans 1:1 with an Empty Fuel Rod in a Canning Machine to produce a finished Fuel Rod (Uranium) with a 20,000-second reactor lifetime. Pellets of Enriched Uranium Nuclear Fuel are also reprocessable in a Thermal Centrifuge back into their constituent piles, allowing players to recover material if a recipe changes or the fuel design is adjusted. The pellets exist in IC2 Experimental for Minecraft 1.7.10 and 1.12.2 as the core enriched-fuel building block of the IC2 breeder loop.

Java Edition Guide

How to use Pellets of Enriched Uranium Nuclear Fuel in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Collect plutonium piles

Reprocess Depleted Fuel Rods in a Thermal Centrifuge until you have at least 3 Small Pile of Plutonium per pellet you plan to craft.

  2. 2

    Collect U-238 piles

Macerate Uranium Ore and run the output through a Thermal Centrifuge to obtain 6 Tiny Pile of U-238 per pellet.

  3. 3

    Craft the pellets

Place 3 Small Pile of Plutonium and 6 Tiny Pile of U-238 in a crafting grid in a shapeless arrangement to make 1 Pellets of Enriched Uranium Nuclear Fuel.

  4. 4

    Can into a fuel rod

Insert 1 Empty Fuel Rod and 1 Pellets of Enriched Uranium Nuclear Fuel into a Canning Machine to receive a Fuel Rod (Uranium) ready for the reactor.

  5. 5

    Reprocess if needed

If you change reactor designs, you can break a Pellets of Enriched Uranium Nuclear Fuel back into piles in a Thermal Centrifuge instead of wasting it.

Frequently asked questions

What is Pellets of Enriched Uranium Nuclear Fuel used for?

It is the intermediate item that, when canned with an Empty Fuel Rod, produces a Fuel Rod (Uranium) for the IC2 Nuclear Reactor.

What is the recipe?

Pellets of Enriched Uranium Nuclear Fuel is crafted shapelessly from 3 Small Pile of Plutonium and 6 Tiny Pile of U-238.

Can the pellet be reprocessed?

Yes — a Thermal Centrifuge can break a Pellets of Enriched Uranium Nuclear Fuel back into its plutonium and U-238 piles.

Where does the plutonium come from?

Plutonium is recovered from Depleted Fuel Rods of previous Fuel Rod (Uranium) cycles, processed in a Thermal Centrifuge.
