Uranium Ore is a worldgen ore block added by IndustrialCraft 2 (IC2 Experimental). It spawns in stone at low Y levels in the Overworld, forming small veins of one to three blocks, comparable in depth range to vanilla diamond ore. Without the IC2 mod installed, this block does not exist in the game. Mining Uranium Ore requires an iron pickaxe or better; a stone or wooden pickaxe will break the block without yielding any drop. When mined with a valid tool, the block drops itself as an item rather than a raw resource, meaning it cannot be smelted in a furnace for any useful product. The intended workflow is industrial processing through IC2 machinery: the ore is fed into a Macerator to obtain Crushed Uranium Ore, then washed and purified through an Ore Washing Plant and a Thermal Centrifuge to yield Tiny Piles of Uranium-235 and Uranium-238 isotopes. These isotopes are combined into fuel rods used inside the IC2 Nuclear Reactor for high-tier energy generation.
