Description

Cropnalyzer is a handheld electric device from the IndustrialCraft 2 mod, used to analyze the seed bags collected from IC2 crops. A crop's attributes — Growth, Gain, and Resistance — stay hidden until you scan a seed, so the Cropnalyzer is the core tool for serious crop cross-breeding. Place a seed bag in the upper-left slot of its interface and an energy source, such as a charged RE-Battery or Energy Crystal, in the upper-right slot. Each seed is scanned in three steps: the first scan reveals the plant's name, the second shows its color, type, and growth method, and the third — which alone can drain a full battery — reveals the Resistance, Gain, and Growth values. Fully analyzing one seed costs roughly 10,000 EU. You can also right-click a planted crop directly with the Cropnalyzer to read its current nutrient value. The device is crafted from insulated copper cable, redstone, glass, and an electronic circuit. Because cross-breeding produces many unknown seeds, the Cropnalyzer lets you compare stats and keep only the strongest plants.

IndustrialCraft 2 Guide

How to use the Cropnalyzer in IndustrialCraft 2

  1. 1

    Charge the Cropnalyzer

Place a charged RE-Battery or Energy Crystal in the upper-right energy slot; full analysis of one seed needs about 10,000 EU.

  2. 2

    Insert a seed bag

Open the Cropnalyzer interface and put a seed bag from a harvested crop into the upper-left slot.

  3. 3

    Scan three times

Run all three scans: the first reveals the name, the second the color, type, and growth method, and the third the Growth, Gain, and Resistance stats.

  4. 4

    Compare and breed

Use the revealed stats to keep the strongest seeds and discard the weak ones when cross-breeding new crops.

Note

Each seed must be scanned separately, and the third scan can drain a full battery, so keep a charged energy source ready.

Frequently asked questions

How do you craft a Cropnalyzer?

It is crafted from insulated copper cable, redstone, glass, and an electronic circuit in IndustrialCraft 2.

What does the Cropnalyzer reveal?

Across three scans it reveals a crop's name, color, type, and growth method, plus the Growth, Gain, and Resistance stats.

How much energy does the Cropnalyzer use?

Fully analyzing one seed costs about 10,000 EU, and the third scan alone can drain a full battery.

Does the Cropnalyzer need a battery?

Yes. It needs an energy source such as a charged RE-Battery or Energy Crystal placed in its upper-right slot.

Why use a Cropnalyzer for cross-breeding?

Crop stats stay hidden without it, so scanning lets you compare seeds and keep only the strongest plants.
