How to Make CESU in Minecraft
CESU
CESU is an IC2 storage block that stores 300K EU (energy units) and moves up to 128 EU/t (EU per tick, 1/20 second).
Description
CESU turns the output face toward the player when placed, and a dot marks that face. All other faces of CESU accept input, and a single input above 128 EU/t will almost certainly make CESU explode, so a transformer of the correct tier prevents the blast. The GUI of CESU has two item slots: the top slot charges items from the stored EU, and the bottom slot discharges items into the stored EU.
Guide
How to use a CESU in Minecraft
-
1
Craft CESU
Arrange five bronze plates, one insulated copper cable and three Advanced RE-Batteries in the 3×3 grid of a crafting table, following the recipe shown on this page, to craft one CESU.
-
2
Place CESU
Place CESU from the side where the output should be: the dot on the face turned toward the player marks the output.
-
3
Reorient the output
Right-click a face of CESU with a wrench to make that face the output, or shift-right-click a face to make the opposite face the output.
-
4
Connect the input
Connect cables to the other faces of CESU and keep every single input at 128 EU/t or less; a stronger line needs a transformer of the correct tier.
-
5
Set the redstone behavior
Open the GUI of CESU and press the button in the upper right to cycle through seven redstone options; Nothing is the default.
The last two options, Do not output energy and Do not output energy unless full, control the output behavior of CESU.

Frequently asked questions
How much EU does CESU keep when removed with a wrench?
CESU keeps only 80% of its stored EU. Wrenching the output face, or shift-wrenching the face opposite it, removes CESU.
Can CESU charge armor the player is wearing?
Yes. The GUI of CESU shows four slots at the lower left with the worn armor, so equipped items charge without being taken off.
Does chaining storage blocks reduce cable loss?
Storage blocks wired to other storage blocks avoid cable loss on lengthy transmission lines. The cost of crafting another storage block may outweigh the 1 or 2 EU per packet saved.
