Carbon Fibre — Minecraft block

Carbon Fibre

Carbon Fibre is an IC2 Experimental crafting material made by compressing Raw Carbon Fibre. It feeds Carbon Mesh, then Carbon Plate, the core of Nano Suit armor.

Description

Carbon Fibre is an Industrial Craft 2 Experimental crafting material and the first refined stage in IC2's carbon-armor chain. You produce it by compressing Raw Carbon Fibre in an IC2 Compressor; the item itself never goes into the world as a block and has no EU value, fuel use, or smelting recipe. Its only job is to feed the next tier: several Carbon Fibre combine into Carbon Mesh, which is then compressed into a Carbon Plate, the core ingredient of the Nano Suit, Composite Vest, and other high-tier IC2 armor and tool reinforcements. On Minecraft 1.7.10, 1.10.2, and 1.12.2 the recipe layout differs slightly, but the role is identical across versions, so any IC2 Experimental setup on AlaCraft can use the same plan. Treat Carbon Fibre as a pure intermediate: you never stockpile it for decoration, you stockpile it because every Nano-tier upgrade needs a stack of Plates, and every Plate needs a stack of Fibre underneath it.

Guide

How to craft and use Carbon Fibre in IC2 Experimental

  1. 1

    Get Raw Carbon Fibre

Acquire Raw Carbon Fibre, the IC2 Experimental precursor item that comes from processing compressed coal-based materials in IC2 machines such as the Extractor or Centrifuge depending on your IC2 version.

  2. 2

    Compress into Carbon Fibre

Place Raw Carbon Fibre into an IC2 Compressor with EU supplied from a stable source like Solar Panels or a Generator; the machine outputs Carbon Fibre as a regular inventory item.

  3. 3

    Combine into Carbon Mesh

Take several Carbon Fibre and combine them on the crafting table to produce Carbon Mesh, the second stage in the IC2 carbon-armor chain.

  4. 4

    Press into a Carbon Plate

Insert Carbon Mesh back into the Compressor to make a Carbon Plate, the final reusable component for Nano-tier gear.

  5. 5

    Build the Nano Suit set

Use Carbon Plate together with the IC2 armor recipes for the Nano Helmet, Bodyarmor, Leggings and Boots, or to reinforce Composite Vests and other high-tier tools.

AlaCraft tip

Plan one full Nano Suit upgrade before you start grinding Raw Carbon Fibre; counting Plates first tells you exactly how many Fibre and Mesh you need and saves a lot of Compressor time on the AlaCraft IC2 world.

Frequently asked questions

What is Carbon Fibre used for in IC2 Experimental?

It is a crafting intermediate only: you turn it into Carbon Mesh, then Carbon Plate, which is required for the Nano Suit armor and other high-tier IC2 reinforcements.

How do I get Raw Carbon Fibre in the first place?

Raw Carbon Fibre comes from processing compressed coal-based materials in IC2 machines such as the Extractor or Centrifuge, depending on the IC2 Experimental version on your AlaCraft world.

What is the difference between Carbon Fibre and Carbon Plate?

Carbon Fibre is the first compressed stage; Carbon Plate is the third. Mesh sits between them, and only the Plate is used directly in armor and tool recipes.

Does Carbon Fibre cost EU to make?

Yes. Each compression step in the IC2 Compressor consumes EU, so the full Fibre to Plate chain needs a steady EU source like Solar Panels, a Generator, or a Battery Box.

Which armor uses Carbon Plate from Carbon Fibre?

Carbon Plate is the core ingredient of the Nano Suit set (Helmet, Bodyarmor, Leggings, Boots) and is also used for the Composite Vest and various high-tier IC2 tools.

Can I get Carbon Fibre from mobs or world generation?

No. Carbon Fibre is a pure crafting product of IC2 Experimental; mobs do not drop it and it does not spawn naturally in the world.
