Description

Bio Chaff is an IndustrialCraft 2 (IC2) organic intermediate produced by macerating biological matter in an IC2 Macerator on Minecraft 1.7.10. Bio Chaff converts saplings, weeds, plantballs, leaves and similar low-value organic items into a stackable resource that feeds the IC2 biofuel pipeline. Players use Bio Chaff as a feedstock on the path toward Biomass, Biogas and ultimately Biofuel, IC2's renewable energy source that powers EU-based generators and machines. Bio Chaff turns surplus farm output and tree-farm scraps into a useful industrial ingredient instead of compost. Bio Chaff is not naturally generated anywhere in the world: every unit comes from the Macerator, which means a stable supply requires a working tree farm, crop farm or weed source plus a powered Macerator drawing EU from an IC2 generator. Bio Chaff also appears in some IC2 Fertilizer recipes, giving the item a secondary role in agricultural automation. Because Bio Chaff stacks like any normal item, large bio-energy setups buffer it in IC2 chests or modded storage before feeding it into the next stage. For modded survival on 1.7.10, Bio Chaff is the practical bridge between renewable farming and IC2's electrical grid.

Guide

How to craft and use Bio Chaff in Minecraft IC2

  1. 1

    Collect organic input

Gather saplings, weeds, plantballs and leaves from a tree farm or crop farm.

  2. 2

    Power a Macerator

Wire an IC2 Macerator to an EU source such as a Generator or Solar Panel.

  3. 3

    Macerate to Bio Chaff

Insert the organic items into the Macerator to produce stackable Bio Chaff.

  4. 4

    Feed the biofuel chain

Send Bio Chaff into the IC2 Biomass or Biogas pipeline toward Biofuel.

  5. 5

    Buffer the output

Store surplus Bio Chaff in an IC2 chest before the next processing step.

Tip

Bio Chaff is a 1.7.10 IC2 Experimental item and is not generated naturally.

Frequently asked questions

How do you get Bio Chaff in IC2?

Place saplings, weeds, plantballs or leaves into an IC2 Macerator powered by EU. The Macerator outputs Bio Chaff as a stackable item.

What is Bio Chaff used for?

Bio Chaff feeds the IC2 biofuel chain toward Biomass, Biogas and Biofuel, and appears in some IC2 Fertilizer recipes.

Does Bio Chaff spawn naturally?

No. Bio Chaff is not generated in the world and must be produced from organic items in a Macerator.

Which Minecraft version has Bio Chaff?

Bio Chaff is part of IndustrialCraft 2 (IC2 Experimental) on Minecraft 1.7.10.
