Description

Diorite generates in irregular pockets — same shape and altitude band as granite — within the regular stone layer of the Overworld. The visual is the polar opposite of its sibling: a near-white background flecked with dark grey and black dots, giving it the brightest tone of any natural stone in the game. Builders use it as a budget marble.

A wooden pickaxe is the minimum required tool, and the block drops itself directly without Silk Touch. Diorite crafts into polished diorite at a one-to-one rate (four blocks → four polished blocks on the crafting grid), and the polished version then becomes slabs, stairs, and walls at a stonecutter. The polished texture loses the speckles, leaving a clean off-white surface that pairs well with quartz, white concrete, or stripped birch for modern minimalist builds. Combined with deep stone or blackstone, the contrast turns sharper still — perfect for tile patterns and chess-board floors.
