Description
Granite generates in irregular pockets up to thirty-three blocks across, embedded inside the regular stone layer of the Overworld between y=0 and y=80. The texture is unmistakable — a warm pink-orange backdrop speckled with darker flecks of red and grey, the colours suggesting genuine igneous geology rather than abstract block art.
A wooden pickaxe is the minimum required tool, and the block always drops itself directly: no cobblestone equivalent, no Silk Touch needed. Granite crafts into polished granite (four-into-four on the crafting grid), and the polished version then becomes slabs, stairs, and walls at a stonecutter for a complete decorative kit. Builders pair raw granite with stripped oak or terracotta for warm Mediterranean villas, with quartz blocks for marbled palace floors, or with andesite for two-tone industrial textures. The block burns at the same rate as stone — that is, not at all.
