Greenhouse Glazing
Greenhouse Glazing is the glass shell of the Crystal Greenhouse in Ala Industrial: 8 pieces craft from glass and a Tempered Iron Plate, seamless once the room seals.
Description
Inside a Crystal Greenhouse, Greenhouse Glazing does more than pass light. The moment the Greenhouse Controller set into the wall seals a room of any closed shape — 27 to 4096 interior blocks, no interior point farther than 24 blocks from the controller, a fresh scan every 40 ticks (2 seconds) — every pane drops its frame, the glazing reads as one continuous sheet, and the outline stays traced along the edges; break the shell and the frames snap back at once. Unlike a reactor room, where glass may cover at most 30 % of the shell, a greenhouse carries no glass cap at all: the build exists to be looked into, and Crystal Seedbeds inside grow real vanilla amethyst clusters behind walls that stopped reading like a stack of crates.

How to glaze a Crystal Greenhouse in Ala Industrial
-
1
Craft eight panes at a time
On a crafting table, surround one Tempered Iron Plate with eight blocks of any glass — vanilla, tinted, stained or modded — and the recipe returns eight pieces of Greenhouse Glazing.
-
2
Raise a closed room of any shape
Build the shell from Greenhouse Glazing and Greenhouse Decking: a dome, a stepped pyramid or a two-storey wing all count, with 27 to 4096 interior blocks.
-
3
Set the Greenhouse Controller into the wall
Place the Greenhouse Controller with its panel facing out and no interior point farther than 24 blocks away; the room is rescanned every 40 ticks (2 seconds), so a missing pane is caught fast.
-
4
Watch the panes merge
When the room seals, every pane of Greenhouse Glazing loses its frame and the walls read as one sheet with the outline traced along the edges; breaking the shell brings the frames back at once.
-
5
Finish with self-closing doors
Craft two Greenhouse Doors from four panes of Greenhouse Glazing and two Tempered Iron Plates; the doors shut themselves 100 ticks (5 seconds) after each passage.
Greenhouse Glazing is immovable, so pistons neither push nor pull a placed pane. Break it with a pickaxe and place it again instead of trying to nudge it into position.

Frequently asked questions
Can the shell be built from vanilla glass alone?
Yes. Any glass counts — vanilla, tinted, all sixteen stained colors, or another mod's glass through the #c:glass_blocks tag — but the frame-dropping repaint happens only on the mod's own shell blocks, so plain panes keep their usual look after the room forms.
Is there a limit on how much of a greenhouse can be glass?
No. A reactor room in Ala Industrial caps glass at 30 % of its shell, but a greenhouse can be glazed end to end, because watching the amethyst grow is the whole point of the build.
Do amethyst clusters grow on Greenhouse Glazing?
No. Clusters grow only on Crystal Seedbeds standing inside the formed room; Greenhouse Glazing is pure shell, and nothing attaches to its faces.
Does a greenhouse need EU power to grow crystals?
No. A greenhouse grows with no cables at all; power is an optional LV accelerator on the Greenhouse Controller — up to 32 EU/t into a 4000 EU buffer, spent only on growth events that actually happen.
Why did the merged sheet turn back into framed panes?
The room lost its seal: a shell block was broken or replaced. Right-click the Greenhouse Controller — the report names the state and, once the room has formed at least once, the coordinates of the missing block.
How do I move a placed pane?
Only with a pickaxe. Greenhouse Glazing is immovable for pistons, so mine the pane and place it again; the block drops itself, stacks to 64 and re-merges once the room reseals.
