Carbon Briquette is the midpoint of the coal chain in Ala Industrial, a technology mod for Minecraft 26.2 Java Edition that runs on both Fabric and NeoForge. Two Double Carbon Rods are fired together with slag in the Alloy Smelter, an LV machine drawing 8 EU/t: one firing costs 1,200 EU, lasts 7.5 seconds (150 ticks) and yields one Carbon Briquette. The slag grade changes only the amount needed — 4 Poor Slag, 2 Slag or 1 Rich Slag per briquette — and slag arrives from the Recycler, so the Carbon Briquette is the only place in Ala Industrial where slag joins carbon. A second route needs no rods at all: 16 Soot collected with a shovel where burning oil went out by itself press into one Carbon Briquette in the Compressor for 260 EU.

Carbon Briquette splits into Ceramic Plates in exactly one way — the quench press, a pit of water with a piston facing it. Throw the briquette and two redstone dust into the water and pulse the piston: one shot consumes one Carbon Briquette plus 2 redstone dust and pays 4 Ceramic Plates, and four plates fold into one Carbon Ceramic block. No grid recipe for the plates exists, and the press costs no EU — its price is the build itself. An over-fed press loses nothing: leftover items keep floating until the next pulse. Build the quench press over two adjacent water sources, because an extending piston destroys the source it faces. Before Carbon Briquette, coal in Ala Industrial served only as generator fuel.
