Description

Alloy Smelter is the first Ala Industrial machine that combines several different materials into one: an LV-tier smelter (low voltage, up to 32 EU/t) that melts multiple metal ingots into a single alloy. The machine has three input slots, and all three are interchangeable — the smelter looks at the whole set of loaded ingots, never at which ingot sits in which slot. While working it draws 8 EU/t, every operation costs a flat 1200 EU over 150 ticks (about 7.5 seconds), and the internal buffer holds 800 EU. The block is crafted from three bricks, four iron ingots, one Machine Casing and one Electronic Circuit, so it can be built before any alloy exists.

Four alloys are available. Three copper ingots plus one tin ingot yield two Bronze Ingots; two iron plus one nickel make Invar; one copper plus one nickel makes Cupronickel; one gold plus one silver makes Electrum — the last three recipes return a single ingot each, so remelting always costs metal. A two-component recipe will not start while a third slot is occupied, and running short of ingredients pauses the work without dropping the recipe. Hoppers cannot jam Alloy Smelter: an input slot refuses any item that already sits in another input slot. The machine glows while melting, breaks with a pickaxe, and drops itself together with its inventory.

How to Get and Use the Alloy Smelter in Minecraft

    Craft the smelter

    Place three bricks in the top row of a crafting table, then iron ingot, Machine Casing and iron ingot in the middle row, and iron ingot, Electronic Circuit and iron ingot in the bottom row to make one Alloy Smelter.

    Connect LV power

    Run a copper cable or another LV line into the block. Alloy Smelter accepts up to 32 EU/t, draws 8 EU/t while melting and buffers 800 EU internally, so one coal Generator covers a single machine almost exactly.

    Load the ingredients

    Drop the ingots into any of the three input slots — the order does not matter. Three copper plus one tin starts the bulk bronze recipe; two-component alloys such as electrum need the third slot to stay empty.

    Collect the alloy

    After 150 ticks (about 7.5 seconds) the finished ingots appear in the output slot. Serve the inputs from the top and the sides with hoppers or pipes, and pull the output from the sides.

A two-component recipe will not start while a third input slot is occupied, and a missing ingot pauses the work instead of cancelling it — the smelter simply waits for the rest.
