Description

The Stock Display Frame is a wall-mounted frame from the Ala Industrial mod that shows the item count inside any container in real time, right on the frame. Hang the frame on a vanilla chest, barrel, or shulker box, or on the mod's Iron Chest, then place a filter item inside: the frame counts the matching items and draws the total on its face. The display uses no energy (EU) — a warehouse convenience, a row of labels for chests you can read without opening a window. An empty frame shows no number at all.

The Stock Display Frame is an entity, not a block, and behaves like the vanilla item frame: flat, no collision, dropping itself when the supporting block breaks. The frame recounts the container once per second (every 20 ticks), reads top-level slots only, and treats a double chest as a single total. Counts stay exact up to 10,000 and abbreviate beyond that (12.3k, 1.2M), visible up to 24 blocks away. A comparator-style analog output also emits a signal from 0 to 15 based on container fullness, independent of the filter. The item is LV-tier, available after your first gears and silver, for Minecraft 26.2 on Fabric or NeoForge.

How to use a Stock Display Frame in Minecraft

  1. 1

Hang the frame on a container

Place the Stock Display Frame on the face of a chest, barrel, shulker box, or the mod's Iron Chest, where you want the count to appear.

  2. 2

    Insert a filter item

Right-click the frame with the item you want to count; the total for that item appears on the frame within one second.

  3. 3

Swap the filter to count something else

Right-click again (or hit the frame) to pop the filter back, then place a different item. The number updates every second (20 ticks).

  4. 4

    Read the redstone output (optional)

Point a comparator at the frame to read a 0–15 signal based on how full the container is, independent of the filter item.

Good to know

The frame counts top-level slots only and treats a double chest as one total. Numbers stay exact up to 10,000, then abbreviate (12.3k, 1.2M), and are visible up to 24 blocks away.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Stock Display Frame use energy?

No. The Stock Display Frame uses no EU; it passively counts items in the container behind it once per second.

What containers does the Stock Display Frame work with?

Any chest, barrel, or shulker box, plus mod containers such as the Iron Chest. A double chest counts as a single total.

How is the displayed number formatted?

The count is exact up to 10,000 and abbreviated above that (12.3k, 1.2M), visible up to 24 blocks away.

Does the Stock Display Frame emit a redstone signal?

Yes. A comparator reads a 0–15 output based on how full the container is, independent of the filter item inside the frame.

How do you craft the Stock Display Frame?

Surround a vanilla item frame with wooden gears, silver ingots, and gold dust in a 3×3 grid. It is an LV-tier recipe available after your first silver.

Is the Stock Display Frame a block?

No. The Stock Display Frame is an entity, like the vanilla item frame: flat, with no collision, and it drops itself when the block behind it breaks.
