Steam Pipe
The Steam Pipe moves steam only — 50 mB per tick from a Reactor Column's top face to a Steam Nozzle — and never links up with a Fluid Pipe, even standing right beside one.
Description
Throughput is 50 mB per tick — one bucket per second — moving in 50 mB segments, the same numbers as a Fluid Pipe. The top of a column stack is a single cell reached by a single pipe, so one stack can never push out more than 50 mB of steam per tick; a large reactor core needs several stacks, each feeding its own line. The pipe uses no energy and accepts a Wrench's NEUTRAL, EXTRACT, INSERT, and DISABLED side modes, exactly like a Fluid Pipe — though a Reactor Column and a Steam Nozzle only work one way, so only a Reactor Inlet actually needs its direction set.
Inside a working reactor room, a Steam Pipe melts one section at a time, roughly every 8 seconds, always after a warning of flame, smoke, and hissing — that's why the room itself calls for a Reinforced Steam Pipe, while an ordinary Steam Pipe is fine for everything outside it.

Guide
Running a Steam Pipe from reactor to nozzle
-
1
Craft it from a Fluid Pipe
Combine a Fluid Pipe, an Invar Plate, and a Ceramic Plate in the pattern pipe-plate-pipe / plate-ceramic-plate / pipe-plate-pipe to craft 4 Steam Pipes at once; invar and ceramic hold up to steam's higher heat.
-
2
Tap the column's top face
Place the Steam Pipe against the top face of a Reactor Column — that is the only face steam actually leaves from — and lead the line toward a Steam Nozzle.
-
3
Keep it clear of Fluid Pipes
Route steam and water lines side by side if you need to; a Steam Pipe never joins a Fluid Pipe even when they touch, so the two systems stay separate without extra shielding.
-
4
Switch to Reinforced inside the reactor room
Anywhere inside a working reactor room, swap in a Reinforced Steam Pipe — an ordinary Steam Pipe there melts one section at a time, roughly every 8 seconds, after a warning of flame, smoke, and hissing.
One column stack tops out at 50 mB of steam per tick because only one pipe reaches its top cell — for a larger core, build several stacks and give each one its own Steam Pipe line.

Frequently asked questions
Can a Steam Pipe connect to a Fluid Pipe?
No — Steam Pipes and Fluid Pipes are two separate networks that never join, even when placed directly next to each other.
How much steam can one Steam Pipe line carry?
50 mB per tick, one bucket per second, the same throughput as a Fluid Pipe; a single column stack's top cell can't feed more than that through one pipe.
Why does my Steam Pipe keep melting?
It's inside a working reactor room. An ordinary Steam Pipe there melts one section at a time about every 8 seconds after a warning of flame, smoke, and hissing — replace it with a Reinforced Steam Pipe.
My old Fluid Pipes carried steam — what happens to them now?
On the first load after the update, any Fluid Pipe that was actually holding steam converts itself into a Steam Pipe (or Reinforced Steam Pipe) automatically, keeping its side modes; the change only runs once.
