Solar Panel
Solar Panel is the first LV generator of Ala Industrial, making 1 EU/t by day under open sky and buffering up to 8000 EU.
Description
A Solar Panel is shaped like a half-slab with hardness 5.0 and blast resistance 6.0, mined with a pickaxe, and stacked to 64. The Solar Panel is crafted from 3 glass blocks, 2 redstone dust, 1 electronic circuit, 2 iron ingots, and 1 copper cable in a shaped redstone-category grid. A Solar Panel produces power only and never accepts input, so the top working face must stay uncovered while the 4 sides and the bottom emit energy. An alignment chip dropped into the single slot of a Solar Panel drives a roughly 3-in-game-day evolution into a stronger day-only Daylight variant or a night-only Moonlit variant, keeping the stored EU and the custom name.

How to use a Solar Panel in Minecraft Ala Industrial
-
1
Place the Solar Panel under open sky
Set a Solar Panel on any solid block in the Overworld so the top face sees clear daytime sky. A Solar Panel produces 1 EU/t in sunny weather, 0 EU/t at night or during rain, and the top glass surface must stay uncovered.
-
2
Wire the Solar Panel to a Copper Cable
Connect a Copper Cable to one of the 4 side faces or the bottom of the Solar Panel. The top face only collects sky light and emits no energy, while the sides and bottom release up to 20 EU/t onto an LV line rated for 32 EU/t.
-
3
Drain energy into a Battery Box
Route the Copper Cable into a Battery Box so the 8000 EU internal buffer of the Solar Panel keeps flowing instead of filling up. Stored charge is lost when the Solar Panel is broken, so drain the buffer before moving the panel.
-
4
Insert an evolution chip to grow the panel
Drop an alignment_chip_day or alignment_chip_night into the single slot of the Solar Panel and leave roughly 3 in-game days of clear weather. The Solar Panel transforms into a stronger Daylight Solar Panel or Moonlit Solar Panel, keeping stored EU and custom name.
Glass blocks above the Solar Panel do not reduce output, but leaves drop generation to about 0.5 EU/t. Snow layers still let the Solar Panel produce 1 EU/t, so cold biomes work as long as the sky stays visible.

Frequently asked questions
How much EU does a Solar Panel generate in Ala Industrial?
A Solar Panel generates 1 EU/t under a clear daytime sky, stores up to 8000 EU in an internal buffer, and releases up to 20 EU/t onto an LV line rated for 32 EU/t.
Does a Solar Panel work at night or in the rain?
A Solar Panel produces 0 EU/t at night and 0 EU/t during rain or a thunderstorm. The Solar Panel only works in the Overworld, by day, when the top face can see open sky.
Does a Solar Panel work through glass or snow?
A Solar Panel still produces 1 EU/t through transparent glass or a snow layer, because the sky stays visible. Leaves or cobweb above the Solar Panel cut the output to about 0.5 EU/t.
How do I craft a Solar Panel in Ala Industrial?
Craft a Solar Panel in a shaped redstone-category grid using 3 glass blocks, 2 redstone dust, 1 electronic circuit, 2 iron ingots, and 1 copper cable. The result is one Solar Panel, and the recipe is recipe-verified.
What tool breaks a Solar Panel?
A pickaxe breaks a Solar Panel, which has hardness 5.0, blast resistance 6.0, and a stack size of 64. Drain the 8000 EU buffer into a Battery Box first, because breaking the Solar Panel discards stored charge.
Can I charge a portable item straight from a Solar Panel?
No, a Solar Panel only produces power onto an LV line and never accepts input. Charge portable items through a Battery Box fed by the Solar Panel over a Copper Cable.
