The Scythe is a hand tool from the Ala Industrial mod that clears decorative foliage or harvests ripe crops across a flat area in a single right-click, and a diamond scythe clears up to 50 blocks across a 5x5 area in one swing. The Scythe ships in eight material tiers — wood, stone, copper, iron, gold, tempered iron, diamond, and netherite — where each higher tier widens the cut area and raises the per-swing block cap, so a netherite scythe reaches a 7x5 area and 70 blocks per swing versus a wood scythe's 3x2 and 12. Each tier is crafted at a workbench from three pieces of its tier material plus two sticks, in a custom shape deliberately different from the vanilla hoe, and the Scythe behaves as a hoe-type tool for enchanting.

The Scythe has two right-click modes. Without Shift, a scythe mows decorative foliage in front of the player — leaves, grass, flowers, ferns, mushrooms, moss carpets, vines, glow lichen, hanging roots, saplings, cave vines, and nether roots — and the break is tool-aware, so Fortune and Silk Touch apply to the drops. With Shift held, a scythe switches to harvest mode and cuts only mature crops: anything in the #minecraft:crops tag at max AGE, ripe sweet berry bushes at age 2 or higher, and cactus or sugar cane blocks above their base, while unripe crops stay to keep growing. A scythe costs 1 durability per block actually cut, and on true crops each tier beyond wood rolls a bonus seed chance that tops out at 35% for a netherite scythe, independent of Fortune and stacking with it.
