Description

Jungle Planks are crafted from jungle logs harvested in jungle and bamboo jungle biomes — usually some of the tallest trees a Survival player encounters. The wood has a distinct warm reddish-brown hue with a soft greenish tint when freshly placed, instantly recognizable next to the muted oak family. Like every other plank, four come from a single log on the crafting grid, and they share identical hardness, fuel value, and flammability with their siblings.

Four saplings planted in a 2×2 grid grow into giant jungle trees that can tower over twenty blocks high — a single sapling cluster supplies a stockpile of these reddish boards for a treehouse, jungle temple, or tiki bar. The matching door, fence, sign, boat, slab, stair, and chest variants all come from this material, making it possible to build an entire jungle outpost without mixing wood tones.

Survival Guide

How to get and use Jungle Planks in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Find a Jungle Biome

Locate a Jungle or Bamboo Jungle biome — look for the tallest trees in the game, draped in vines, with mossy cobblestone ruins nearby.

  2. 2

    Harvest Jungle Logs

Break jungle tree trunks with an axe for the fastest harvest. Any tool or bare hands work, but an axe collects each log significantly faster.

  3. 3

    Craft 4 Planks per Log

Place 1 jungle log in any slot of the crafting grid — your inventory 2×2 or a crafting table — to receive exactly 4 Jungle Planks.

  4. 4

    Build or Craft Wood Items

Use Jungle Planks directly as a building material or craft them into jungle doors, fences, slabs, stairs, trapdoors, buttons, signs, and boats using standard wood recipes.

  5. 5

Grow Giant Trees for a Bulk Supply

Plant 4 jungle saplings in a 2×2 grid and apply bone meal to grow a giant jungle tree over 20 blocks tall, yielding dozens of logs per harvest.

Jungle vs. Bamboo Jungle

Both biome types produce standard jungle logs. Bamboo Jungle trees are shorter, but the logs and planks they yield are identical to those from regular jungle trees.

Frequently asked questions

How do you get Jungle Planks in Minecraft?

Place 1 jungle log in any slot of the crafting grid — either the 2×2 in your inventory or a crafting table. Each log yields exactly 4 Jungle Planks.

Where do jungle trees grow?

Jungle trees grow naturally in Jungle and Bamboo Jungle biomes. Giant jungle trees require 4 saplings planted in a 2×2 grid, with optional bone meal to speed up growth.

What is the fastest tool for harvesting jungle wood?

An axe breaks jungle logs fastest. Jungle Planks themselves require no specific tool and can be collected by hand.

Are Jungle Planks flammable?

Yes. Jungle Planks are flammable and can be ignited by fire or lava, just like all other wood planks in Minecraft.

What can you craft from Jungle Planks?

Jungle Planks craft into jungle doors, trapdoors, fences, fence gates, slabs, stairs, buttons, pressure plates, signs, and jungle boats using standard wood recipes.

Are Jungle Planks renewable?

Yes. Jungle trees grow from jungle saplings, so a sapling farm produces unlimited logs and therefore unlimited Jungle Planks.
