Insulated Chestplate is the torso piece of the slime-dipped leather set — one worn piece absorbs 25% of a live bare cable's shock, a full set absorbs all of it.
Description
Wear is the price: contact with an energised bare cable shocks once per second, and durability pays only for the damage the set actually stopped — 1 point per LV shock, 2 per MV and 3 per HV. With 400 durability, Insulated Chestplate survives roughly seven minutes of unbroken contact with a copper LV line, and an HV electrum line eats the same coating three times faster; a broken piece stops protecting, and leather on an anvil repairs it (enchantability 15). The glossy green slime coating over warm leather makes the set recognisable in an inventory without reading the label. Once the first rubber arrives, three rubber sheathe six segments of Insulated Copper Cable and remove the hazard permanently — until then, Insulated Chestplate is what lets you build around live wiring, and the late-game Shielding Chestplate insulates as a side effect of its radiation protection.

Craft the chestplate
Combine a leather tunic and one slime ball anywhere in a crafting grid — the recipe is shapeless and needs no machines.

Equip the torso piece
Place Insulated Chestplate in the chest armour slot; the leather hood, trousers and boots from the same set each add their own 25%.

Work along the live line
Build next to bare copper or gold cable while energy flows: the chestplate takes its share of each once-per-second shock instead of your health.

Watch the green coating
Durability of 400 drains at 1 point per LV shock (2 per MV, 3 per HV); when the bar empties, the piece stops protecting — swap or repair it.

Retire the set at the rubber stage
Once you can make rubber, re-lay the line as Insulated Copper Cable and take the set off: the shock hazard is gone for good.
Insulated Chestplate stops only a cable's shock: falls, mobs and lava hit exactly as hard as in leather armour, and radiation ignores slime completely — that threat belongs to the much later Shielding Chestplate.
