Weed-EX — Minecraft block

Weed-EX is the chemical herbicide of the IndustrialCraft 2 (IC2) mod, assembled from redstone, Grin Powder and an empty fluid cell by blueprint rather than mined or farmed. Weed-EX belongs to the IC2 Crops system, where weeds spontaneously sprout on crop sticks, choke cultivated plants, lower their stats and spread to neighbouring tiles. Right-clicking a crop stick with Weed-EX sprays exactly that one block: the treated crop gains weed resistance and new weeds stop appearing on it. Weed-EX is a preventive — it does not remove weeds that have already grown.

The price of protection is crop quality: every dose can permanently lower the plant's stats, and overuse caps them at 10, a loss no fertilizer reverses. The Crop-Matron, a tier-1 machine watching a 9×9×3 area, applies Weed-EX from its stock automatically as needed — use it sparingly for the same reason. To remove a weed that has already taken a crop stick, use the Weeding Trowel, which pulls the weed without dismantling the crop sticks. Keep a few doses of Weed-EX for breeding plots where a weed outbreak would ruin weeks of crossbreeding, and leave healthy fields unsprayed.
