Description

Weed-EX is the chemical herbicide of the IndustrialCraft 2 (IC2) mod, stored as a consumable fluid inside Weed-EX cells rather than crafted on a workbench. Weed-EX belongs to the IC2 Crops system, where weeds spontaneously sprout on crop sticks, choke cultivated plants, lower their stats and spread to neighbouring tiles. Right-clicking a crop or crop stick with a Weed-EX cell destroys every weed and every crop inside a 9×9×3 area centred on the targeted block, which is why Weed-EX is used to reset an overrun or failed field in a single spray.

Weed-EX shines in automation: load Weed-EX cells into a Crop-Matron and the machine clears weeds from the crops it tends without manual visits, complementing the Weeding Trowel that pulls a single weed by hand without harming the plant. Each Weed-EX cell empties after use and, thanks to the IC2 auto-refill behaviour, tops itself up from spare Weed-EX in the inventory. Keep a stack of Weed-EX cells near any large IC2 cropfield to stop weed outbreaks before they ruin a long crossbreeding run.

How to use Weed-EX in IndustrialCraft 2

    Obtain Weed-EX as a fluid in IC2 cells and keep the filled cells on your hotbar before heading to the cropfield.

    Right-click a crop or crop stick with the Weed-EX cell to destroy all weeds and crops in the 9×9×3 area around the targeted block.

    Automate with a Crop-Matron

    Place Weed-EX cells in a Crop-Matron so it removes weeds from the crops it tends automatically, without manual visits.

    Spare crops with the Weeding Trowel

    When you only need to remove one weed without losing the crop, use the Weeding Trowel instead of the area-wide Weed-EX.

Important

Weed-EX kills cultivated crops as well as weeds in its 9×9×3 area, so never spray it directly on a field you want to keep — reserve direct use for resetting overrun or failed crossbreeding plots.
