Guide
How to produce Uu Matter with a Mass Fabricator in IC2
-
1
Build a Mass Fabricator
Craft a Mass Fabricator from advanced machine casing, advanced circuits and glowstone dust at an IC2 crafting bench.
-
2
Wire high-voltage EU input
Connect the Mass Fabricator to an HV supply such as an IC2 Nuclear Reactor or an MFSU through HV transformers and glass fibre cable.
-
3
Feed Scrap from a Recycler
Run a Recycler on cobblestone or dirt to make Scrap, then auto-pipe Scrap or Scrap Boxes into the Mass Fabricator to cut the 1,000,000 EU per Uu Matter cost by about 6x.
-
4
Collect Uu Matter units
Wait for the progress bar to fill; each completed cycle outputs one Uu Matter item into the Mass Fabricator output slot.
-
5
Craft target resources
Use Uu Matter at a standard crafting table with the IC2 recipe sheet to produce diamonds, iron, redstone, glowstone, snowballs or iridium ore.
Iridium ore is the highest-value Uu Matter recipe — it is required for the Quantum-Suit armor and cannot be obtained from any other source in classic IC2.

Frequently asked questions
How is Uu Matter produced?
Uu Matter is produced only by the IC2 Mass Fabricator, which converts EU energy into matter at a base cost of 1,000,000 EU per unit.
Does Scrap really speed up the Mass Fabricator?
Yes. Feeding Scrap or Scrap Boxes from a Recycler multiplies output by about 6x, dropping the effective EU cost per Uu Matter to roughly 166,000 EU.
What can you craft from Uu Matter?
Uu Matter recipes include diamonds, iron ingots, redstone, lapis lazuli, glowstone dust, snowballs and iridium ore — the last being mandatory for the Quantum-Suit armor.
Can Uu Matter be placed as a block?
No. Uu Matter exists only as an inventory item in IC2; it cannot be placed in the world like a regular Minecraft block.
Is Uu Matter available on Bedrock Edition?
No. IC2 and Uu Matter are Java Edition only and do not exist in Bedrock Edition Minecraft.
