Description

Tin Block is the compact storage block added by Industrial Craft 2, built by placing nine Tin Ingots in a 3x3 crafting grid. The recipe runs in reverse: one Tin Block returns nine Tin Ingots, so the block works exactly like a vanilla Block of Iron for stockpiling metal without filling chests with loose items. Tin itself spawns as ore between layers 0 and 40, usually in veins of up to six blocks, and a stone pickaxe or better is required to mine it. The silvery-grey surface gives Tin Block a clean industrial look that reads as distinctly cooler than Copper Block's warm orange or Bronze Block's reddish-brown tone.
Players use Tin Block to free up inventory space, since one stack of blocks holds 576 ingots (9 per block times the 64 stack cap). Tin is a foundational Industrial Craft 2 resource — it feeds into RE Batteries, tin cables, Electric Motors, Mixed Metal Ingots, Universal Fluid Cells, and several nuclear reactor components. Combining three copper ingots with one tin ingot yields four bronze ingots, making Tin Block a convenient reserve for alloy production. For large factories and reactor halls, lining storage rooms with Tin Block stacks keeps the metal visible and one click away from uncrafting.

  3. 3

    Fill a 3x3 crafting grid

Place one Tin Ingot in every cell of a 3x3 crafting grid to craft one Tin Block.
