Description

The Silver Block is an Industrial Craft 2 storage block that compresses nine Silver Ingots into a single inventory slot. Players fill all nine cells of a 3×3 crafting grid with Silver Ingots, and the recipe reverses cleanly — one Silver Block returns nine Silver Ingots on the crafting table. Industrial Craft 2 never generates silver ore: every piece of silver comes from processing gold ore, because running crushed gold ore through the Thermal Centrifuge yields two Tiny Piles of Silver Dust per gold ore, nine tiny piles craft into one Silver Dust, and smelting the Silver Dust produces one Silver Ingot. A pickaxe harvests the placed Silver Block, and a full stack reaches 64 per slot.

Builders use the Silver Block as a compact storage milestone for large silver stockpiles and as a shiny metallic building block for decorative floors, vault facades, and industrial-themed rooms. The Silver Block pairs naturally with other metal storage blocks such as the Bronze Block, giving modded bases a coherent metallic palette. Silver itself has one important Industrial Craft 2 role — Glass Fibre Cables that carry top-tier voltage — but no recipe consumes the Silver Block yet, so every crafted block stays available for storage or decoration. Craft nine Silver Ingots into one Silver Block, and the block frees eight inventory slots while keeping the silver instantly accessible.

Guide

How to craft a Silver Block in Industrial Craft 2

  1. 1

    Gather gold ore

Industrial Craft 2 does not generate silver ore, so the raw material behind the Silver Block is ordinary gold ore — mine enough gold to feed the ore-processing chain.

  2. 2

Process gold ore in the Thermal Centrifuge

Run crushed gold ore through the Thermal Centrifuge: each gold ore yields two Tiny Piles of Silver Dust, and nine tiny piles craft into one Silver Dust.

  3. 3

Smelt Silver Dust into Silver Ingots

Smelt each Silver Dust into one Silver Ingot in a furnace, and repeat the process until nine Silver Ingots are ready for the storage recipe.

  4. 4

    Fill the 3×3 crafting grid

Place one Silver Ingot in each of the nine cells of the crafting grid: the recipe produces exactly one Silver Block per craft, a pickaxe harvests the placed block, and the Silver Block stacks to 64 per slot.

  5. 5

    Reverse the recipe on demand

Put one Silver Block anywhere on the crafting grid to decompose the Silver Block back into nine Silver Ingots whenever the raw silver is needed.

Tip

Nine gold ore yield only two Silver Dust, so a full Silver Block of nine Silver Ingots takes the silver output of roughly forty gold ore — plan the gold budget before spending silver on decoration.

Frequently asked questions

How do you craft a Silver Block in Industrial Craft 2?

Place nine Silver Ingots in a 3×3 crafting grid to produce one Silver Block. The recipe follows the standard 9-to-1 storage block formula used across Industrial Craft 2 metals.

Can you reverse a Silver Block back into Silver Ingots?

Yes. Placing one Silver Block on the crafting grid decomposes the Silver Block into nine Silver Ingots, recovering the full ingredient stack.

Where does silver come from in Industrial Craft 2?

Industrial Craft 2 never generates silver ore. Silver arrives as Tiny Piles of Silver Dust when crushed gold ore runs through the Thermal Centrifuge — two tiny piles per gold ore, and nine tiny piles craft into one Silver Dust.

Is the Industrial Craft 2 Silver Block renewable?

No. Every piece of silver comes from processing a finite supply of gold ore, so each Silver Block draws on the map's limited gold budget.

Why store silver as Silver Blocks instead of Silver Ingots?

One Silver Block holds nine Silver Ingots in a single inventory slot, so the Silver Block frees eight slots in a chest or backpack full of silver.

Can you use the Silver Block as a building material?

Yes. The Silver Block has a shiny metallic texture, and no Industrial Craft 2 recipe consumes the Silver Block yet, so builders spend the Silver Block freely on decorative floors, vault facades, and industrial-themed rooms.
