RE-Battery
Re Battery is the IC2 entry-level 10,000 EU rechargeable LV battery, crafted from tin, insulated copper cable, and redstone.

How to craft and charge a Re Battery in Minecraft
-
1
Gather ingredients
Smelt 4 Tin Ingots, craft 2 Insulated Copper Cables (copper cable + rubber), and collect 1 Redstone Dust.
-
2
Lay out the 3x3 recipe
Top row: Tin, Insulated Copper Cable, Tin. Middle row: Tin, Redstone, Tin. Bottom row: empty, Tin, empty. This U-shape yields one Re Battery.
-
3
Charge the battery on LV
Place the Re Battery in a BatBox, basic Generator, MFE charging slot, or Charging Bench. Never feed it MV or HV current or it explodes.
-
4
Power an IC2 tool
Drop the charged Re Battery into the battery slot of a Mining Drill, Chainsaw, Electric Wrench, Electric Hoe, or Electric Treetap to run it.
-
5
Reuse or discharge
When empty, recharge the same Re Battery again. To return stored EU to the grid, place it in the energy slot of a BatBox, MFE, or MFSU.
Keep two Re Batteries per electric tool: one in the tool and one in a BatBox charging up. The 10,000 EU buffer covers most early mining trips.

Frequently asked questions
How much EU does a Re Battery hold?
A Re Battery stores up to 10,000 EU, which is the standard tier 1 LV buffer in IndustrialCraft 2.
Can I charge a Re Battery from an MFE or MFSU directly?
Only from the charging slot. Feeding MV or HV cable current straight into the battery makes it explode. Use a BatBox, basic Generator, MFE charging slot, or Charging Bench.
Which tools accept a Re Battery?
Any IC2 electric tool with a battery slot, including the Mining Drill, Chainsaw, Electric Wrench, Electric Hoe, and Electric Treetap.
Does the Re Battery disappear when empty?
No. Unlike the Single-Use Battery, the Re Battery is reusable and stays in your inventory after discharging.
What replaces the Re Battery at higher tiers?
Use an Energy Crystal (100,000 EU, MV) for medium voltage and a Lapotron Crystal (1,000,000 EU, HV) for high voltage setups.
