Ore Washing Plant
The Ore Washing Plant purifies crushed ores in IndustrialCraft 2, turning each one into purified ore, two tiny dust piles, and stone dust for 8,000 EU (the mod's energy unit).
Description
Washing pays off through the tiny piles: nine Tiny Piles of the same metal craft into one full dust, so nine iron ore run through the Macerator, the Ore Washing Plant, and an Electric Furnace yields 22 ingots against 9 from plain smelting. The washing stage is the expensive part — 144,000 EU for eighteen crushed ores — so the Ore Washing Plant fits bases with surplus power. Four upgrade slots accept Overclocker Upgrades for faster cycles plus Ejector or Pulling Upgrades for automatic output. A wrench picks the placed Ore Washing Plant back up as an item, and uranium stays the exception: uranium in IndustrialCraft 2 comes only from the Thermal Centrifuge.

IndustrialCraft 2 Guide
How to use the Ore Washing Plant
-
1
Craft the Ore Washing Plant
Place three Iron Plates across the top row of a crafting table, a Machine block in the center between two Buckets, and an Electronic Circuit between two Electric Motors in the bottom row.
-
2
Supply power and water
Connect low-voltage power of 32 EU/t or less and deliver 1,000 mB of water per cycle with buckets, fluid cells, or a Pump; the internal buffer holds 16,000 EU.
-
3
Feed crushed ore
Move crushed ores from the Macerator into the input slot; raw ores and dusts do not go into the Ore Washing Plant.
-
4
Collect the outputs
Harvest one Purified Crushed Ore, two Tiny Piles of metal dust, and one Stone Dust per 25-second cycle that costs 8,000 EU.
-
5
Turn tiny piles into ingots
Combine nine Tiny Piles of the same metal into one full dust on a crafting grid, then smelt the dust — nine iron ore become 22 ingots this way.
Overclocker Upgrades in the four upgrade slots shorten the 25-second cycle, and a wrench removes the placed Ore Washing Plant without losing the machine.

Frequently asked questions
How do you craft the Ore Washing Plant in IndustrialCraft 2?
Arrange three Iron Plates on top, a Machine block between two Buckets in the middle, and an Electronic Circuit between two Electric Motors at the bottom of a crafting table.
How much power does the Ore Washing Plant use?
The Ore Washing Plant draws 16 EU/t from a 32 EU/t maximum input and spends 8,000 EU per crushed ore, storing up to 16,000 EU internally.
How much water does the Ore Washing Plant need?
Each crushed ore consumes 1,000 mB of water — one bucket per operation — supplied by hand or through a Pump.
What does one washed crushed ore produce?
One washed crushed ore yields one Purified Crushed Ore, two Tiny Piles of that metal's dust, and one Stone Dust.
Can the Ore Washing Plant wash uranium?
No. Uranium in IndustrialCraft 2 comes only from the Thermal Centrifuge, never from the Ore Washing Plant.
Is washing ore worth the energy?
Full processing turns nine iron ore into 22 ingots against 9 from plain smelting, but washing those eighteen crushed ores alone costs 144,000 EU.
