Description

Electric Motor is a core crafting component from Industrial Craft 2 (IC2 Experimental) for Minecraft. It is an item, not a placeable block, and exists purely as an ingredient in IC2 machine recipes. The motor is crafted on a shaped 3×3 grid: two Coils in the left and right middle slots, one iron ingot in the center, and one Tin Item Casing in the top and bottom middle slots. Each Coil itself is made of 8 copper cables and 1 iron ingot. Right-clicking the Electric Motor in the world does nothing, since it has no standalone function. Electric Motors are required for the Kinetic Generator, the Power Unit and Small Power Unit, the Thermal Centrifuge, the Ore Washing Plant, the Heat Vent, the Electric Boat, and the Personal Safe. Because several ore-processing machines consume motors at once, players usually craft Coils in batches before assembling the machine chain. On the modpack, the Electric Motor behaves exactly as in vanilla IC2 Experimental, with no balance changes to recipe or function.

How to craft an Electric Motor in IC2

    Craft the Coils

    On a 3×3 crafting grid, place 8 copper cables around 1 iron ingot to craft one Coil. The Electric Motor recipe needs 2 Coils.

    Prepare casings and iron

    Get 2 Tin Item Casings and 1 extra iron ingot for the center of the recipe.

    Open a crafting table

    You need a standard 3×3 crafting grid. A 2×2 inventory grid is not enough for the Electric Motor recipe.

    Place the components

    Put the 2 Coils in the left and right middle slots, the 2 Tin Item Casings in the top and bottom middle slots, and the iron ingot in the center.

    Use the motor in machine recipes
